Australian International Summer 2020/21

First Class Cricket Talk (International and State)

I thought Sunday was bad. We are doing the same thing today even though we know it didn't work two days ago. Don't think the Indians can win but we certainly aren't. Big question...who is man of the series? Might be Rahane who turned the series around with that century in Melbourne and has led the Indians brilliantly.

Warne praising Hazlewood for asking if he was ok.. i could've sworn he asked "You want another one?"

I think it comes down to this innings.

Cummins, Hazlewood, Pujara & Rahane would all be in with a chance, depends on who wins.

If today is pretty redundant then Labuschagne could get the nod.

What? If only we had someone steely in our line up, he's as boring as batshit but he's f****** us over this summer.

I admire him even more that he has no interest in IPL, just wants to represent his country at test level.

His done his job.....time for him to get on with it so India can win. Whilst his at the crease from now on we are still a chance of holding on for a draw.

Only other possible than an Indian win is a draw because Pujara doesn't up the anti enough.

If he can get on with it ill change my opinion.

Should retire hurt and be ready to come in if they get down to 7 wickets.

And if he holds up one end, wears down the bowlers as they bump him over after over and the other end play their shots and India win?

They need what 3 an over. If he holds up one end they are going to have to score at 5-6 an over from the other end for 20-30 plus overs. Tough ask with no fielding restrictions or set overs per bowler.

I reckon this India team is different, I reckon they will want the win and the glory, history and reputation that comes with it. Which is why Pant has come up the order.

They are 30-40 overs away from creating history.

This sums up so much wrong with Australian cricket right now, that you're hopeful of holding out for a bloody draw!

Pujara is anchoring this innings perfectly - he's there for them to bat around, no matter how slow.. and if they're attempts to chase the runs look like failing he will still be there to carry his side to the draw and trophy.

If you think a run a ball late in the game is an ask, then i suggest you haven't seen much of how these Indians approach their cricket in recent years.

Of course they do, especially with the Aussie record at the Gabba

India finish 17 runs short.... Pujara 72 not out.

Ultimately for all Indias heart and determination its a drawn series and there no better than us. :D

They still have Rahane who can anchor the innings if the win is out of the question.

No better than us?? ... If India get the draw they retain the trophy ... didn't all Aussie celebrate when they retained the Ashes in England last year ??? Short memories

They retain the trophy will still sit ahead of them in the test cricket championship which is the new ultimate! Who wants the showdown cup when you can have the AFL premiership.

If I’m India I’m going for this with the below line up

Agarwal
Washington Sundar
Thankur

Then if they are out potentially run chase called off with Rahane coming out.

145 to win for India in 37 overs.

Reckon Pant will have a real dash not long after tea, been a great performance by India this series all bar really one innings

Done it without their Captain and best batsman as well, got some real young talent in the squad, going to continue to be strong for many years to come

They will come away with far more positives than the Aussies unfortunately
You cant change your past but you can sure hell shape you future
