Probably only Adelaide Uni as they are funded by the Uni who in turn are funded by the Government :? :?
Only by the university sports association not the university direct.

Apologies for the ignorance but who then funds the sports association?

Probably the sports clubs of Adelaide University.....

I don't think Adelaide Uni CC get millions of funding that some perceive they get.

I hate the 2 div model. Encouraging talented, loyal players to leave their home club for a club in a higher division is no good. Then having players yo-yo between clubs due to promotion and relegation is also no good for club/comp stability. Please bin the idea.

If you start a new comp with 10 licenses what does the criteria look like? Surely clubs are doing the math and considering how their club stacks up if this plausible approach is taken.

Rowey just spoke to Paul Charman and Lewis Hatchett from Southerns, you can tell by their anger this merger has no chance of going ahead!

As been pointed out many times on here, it is basically a takeover and only helps out the Adelaide CC.

Back to the drawing board by SACA by the looks of it

Without having the full facts of the incident - Is it a conflict of interest if a player appeals a suspension and the appeals committee has someone associated with said club deciding on the decision?

Don't they recuse themselves in that case?

Uni and Kensington winners in the one day semi finals today vs Glenelg and East Torrens respectively

Same grand final match up as the T20

Would they be the 2 most wealthy, well resourced clubs in Premier Cricket?

Next Redbacks game isn't until Feb 21 so they might both get full teams (Weatherald, Pope, Ross, Winter, Worrall)

Not sure if there's a 2nd XI game though

Yes you're right. Forgot he'd switched back. Henry Hunt too

Will be a good game if both full strength

Think Southerns board have underestimated the push back from their membership....

If it does fail then I suspect there would be fallout at board level for both clubs.

I can't believe they thought they'd be able to sell it successfully to the life members.
Its a stupid proposal!
Seems to me the board are over trying to run a grade club and this is their get out.
Bloody hard job I'd imagine and heavily reliant on volunteers much like a community club but much bigger scale.

ItS only my opinion but southern districts have to stay put!

West Torrens have had the Western Eagles on their logo since the move to Henley.

East Torrens also have the Eastern Reds on their logo.

Could the Adelaide Cricket Club unofficially be known as the Southern Stingrays if the merger were successful and have that on their logo? Would that help preserve the identity better of both. I also think the merged club should be based at Bice Oval until another facility is built.

Would make quite a bit of sense to strengthen the 'bookends' of the competition.

Adelaide shifts further south to bolster Southern Districts - not the other way around.

Prospect shifts further north to bolster Northern Districts.

Match the spread of grade clubs with Adelaide's urban sprawl.

Hopefully those that are vocal and voting against it that aren't around the club put there hand up to volunteer and help rather than coming out of the shadows and then going back in once the decision is made.
Clubs struggle for enough volunteers, hence part of the reason that those who do put the time and effort in over a period of time get frustrated, tired and then drop their enthusiasm.
