West have/had Nick Couroupis training at Richmond and I don't think they have filled their remaining spot yet.

Eagles have/had Rhyan Mansell training at Richmond as well.

One of you two should get a player back if not both.

I wasn't expecting any announcements, as it seems we are a bit late signing anyone that is league standard.

We "entertained" a big bloke over the weekend, potential new ruckman, from NSW, others still being chased too.
Will know more after training tonight.

Unfortunately it is true. Email from the club this morning stating he is training with the Saints for the next 2 weeks and they will then decide whether they want him or not. Booooooooo the AFL

Since the implementation of rules allowing greater flexibility for AFL Clubs in selecting players outside of the traditional draft, the following South Adelaide ruckmen have been selected

2018 Keegan Brooksby (West Coast)
2019 Hayden McLean (Sydney), Michael Knoll (Sydney)
2020 Keegan Brooksby (Hawthorn

Confirmed by the club, trainig with St Kilda with them to make up their minds to draft him over the nest 2 weeks. This just makes me weep for both my club who for the 3rd time loses a ruckman to this rediculous draft and for the SANFL compitition.

Re Hunter..
this as an absolute bloody joke.
If you know of any gangly young 200cm ruckmen, send them to South and they will be ushered onto an afl list almost immediately. 4 bloody years in a row this has happened with a few weeks to commence the season...

2018 Keegan Brooksby (West Coast)
2019 Hayden McLean (Sydney), Michael Knoll (Sydney)
2020 Keegan Brooksby (Hawthorn)
2021 Paul Hunter

AFL clubs have 2 drafts to select players for the upcoming season back in early december. They have 6-7 scouts and team list managers et al to select players, then at the last f---g minute they decide they might just go and grab so and so from a state league club and put him on the rookie list as insurance. The player will then train his guts out 5 nights a week to play in some pissy b grade team in ahalf baked reserves comp that probably wont get off the ground any way' and never play an AFL game    . ffs!!
