In the SA T20 comp last night, needing 16 off the last 3 balls - hits next 2 balls for 6, so 4 off the last, bowler hits a perfect yorker which gives the bat no chance only for the ump to call a front foot no ball, so 3 off the last ball is now the equation, ball is pretty good again but the bat gets it to the mid wicket boundary where it is mis-fielded and goes for 4, crazy [emoji38]
Side chasing was certainly helped by the sundries count. Poor effort from professional cricketers!

India v England, third (D/N) test in Ahmedabad.
Joe Root won the toss and England are batting first.
Anderson, Archer, Bairstow and Crawley in for Moeen Ali, Burns, Lawrence, Stone. No surprises there.
Bumrah and Sundar replace Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav for India.
This will be Ishant Sharma's 100th test match.

Bairstow doing his best Shane Watson with that review. Poms 2/27, Crawley 23*.

Stadium looks great.
Pitch not so much. There won't be any crease left if it goes to day 3.
Pant v Wade for worst ever test keeper.

Pant has massive 'Fry Pan' hands haha, the wobble after the ball has pitched and gone past the batsman has caused him some trouble.

Admittedly one he didn't take, did not have any rotation at all and just dropped on him.
Really hard to take them.
Crawley's killing it geez.

They should fill any ground in India given their population and love of cricket.

Sadly in past tours we've played in front of very ordinary crowds, due in part to ticket prices being unaffordable and general incompetence from the BCCI.

6 for 82 .... can't see this going to day 4. England have picked 3 quicks and that aint going to work on this pitch.

TDK's International Test Cricket Update's

Postby Jim05 » Wed Feb 24, 2021 10:49 pm

I’ll never get the logic of looking at an Indian home XI with 3 more or less full time spinners, and thinking “what do these guys know” and picking 3.5 seamers and 1 spinner.
8/104 now
At least the Poms will get a full session under lights at them :)

I guess it probably not so much 'what do these guys know' and more a case of measuring up the strength of your quality first picked fast bowlers versus the quality of your second and third spinner. Obviously its hard to measure how much the lesser spin bowler will improve due to the pitch conditions. You would have to think though an average spinner can become a jet given our history with blokes like Krezja and O'Keefe doing very well over there.

If it was Australia over there and we picked three spin bowlers who would they be.....probably Lyon and Sweepson certs even though wrist spinners haven't always done well. Who would be the third picked. Cummins would be your pace bowler with Hazelwood and Starc missing out.

Would take a lot of courage for selectors to pick that side to take 20 wickets in a test match.

Will also have to make more then 200 in at least 1 innings per test which I think will be harder.
So have to pick a team with batting depth, that includes players who can actually play spin.
