I think it had to happen, tall poppy syndrome.

Here's our chance to wake up and play our best side and have our best squad there for insurance, it's good for our future.
The result wasn't as embarrassing as what it could of been and Stoinis and Sams batted very well to give us a chance but the damage was already done in the first innings as all the bowlers went the journey.
As I've said previously this series is a good chance to have the guys one the verge of being in Australia's best T20 team show if they're up to the level or not. With an unchanged team for today they were obviously backing those guys in and now after the two losses you'd think there will be some changes for the third game.
Agar and Kane Richardson are surely the most likely to be replaced while I think Finch has too many 'credits in the bank' I won't be surprised if his spot comes under question, same with Maxwell to a lesser extent and Wade would want a big score if he plays at the top of the order in the next match.

Exactly, i doubt any batsman has ever faced 92 balls in a T20.
Maybe TDK can tell us the top 5 for balls faced in T20 cricket. It would be hard to face any more than 75 imo

Reckon Finch still holds the record at International of 76 balls.
I do remember the media making a huge deal about Stoinis in the BBL so perhaps similar?

Amazing comeback, do we just play 10 all-rounders as our team seems very hit and miss, the players seem to do enough every so often to keep their name in front of the selectors. Stoinis can fail repeatedly but they know they'll get that one super knock out of him before too long, much like Maxwell.

It must be bloody hard to be a selector with these sort of players, T20 is a vicious game to some degree as there is little consistency with players, Stoinis and Maxwell will generally be the within the first 5 picked and they'd build a line up around these two, Finch and Zampa.

Finch is safe for the series you'd think, Agar seems to be the Golden Child of the team but yeah, you'd assume that Maxwell, Kane and Agar should make way for the Dorff, the Sandwich and either Turner or McDermott although they seem to love Tye who I see as a run leaking machine.

There's plenty to like about yesterday, Philippe showed promise moving forward, although Sams did exceptionally well I'm not sold on him, I hope he proves me otherwise because a left arm quick that can hit a ball brings a fair bit to the table.

Wade will get away with mediocrity for a while yet, batting Agar ahead of Marsh had me baffled yesterday.

If we lose next game I'm sure we will just chuck all the kids in and give no f***'s, it will be a blessing in dsguise.
