The young guys will be better for the experience.

Prefer the loss than playing out a no pressure draw the young guys learn nothing from

Positive us we made runs against the best attack going around.
We lack a real quick Patterson type character and get the goat back.

If you like a punt and can get on live, Tassie are currently a good price above $2.10 in todays Marsh Cup, pitch is a road and have a look at the bowling line up the Vics have named.

thats almost like throwing the game, see Tassie chased down the 222 for the loss of only 4 wickets and with plenty of overs to spare

Bit unfair to bat Liam Scott at 3. Young kid finding his feet.

Should be Nielsen or Lehman at 3. Scott to bat 6 or 7.
This is Tony Clifton! A name to respect! A name to fear!

It’s so obvious to some.
We just don’t nurture and protect our young players enough.

Head should bat 3 at shield level as he’s our best bat.

I think your right, he shouldnt be batting before a test batsman.
Let the bloke find his feet a little, rather than.... ya batting 3 against test bowlers!
However if he opens or bats 3 at club level then that plays a part.
Catch22. Throw him in the deep end, or baby him a bit?
I'm not sure which way is the right way.

When Australia was dominating world cricket we always put our new young guns in at Number 6, let them find their feet at the next level, guys like Ponting, Smith, Clarke, etc. Redbacks chuck them in at No. 3 and wonder why they fail. Makes no sense!

After the recent Shield match against Victoria, Jackson Bird has now taken 401 first class wickets, 299 for Tasmania which is the most for them Sheffield Shield cricket.

Head, as captain should step up and demand to bat 3 and give the new bloke a chance to cement his spot in the top 6.
Poor leadership I think.

Looks like Jake Lehmann replaces Tom Cooper in One day squad for Friday’s game vs Tasmania in St.Kilda. Rest of team the same, Ferg still there.

Perhaps batting three for Head is a mental thing and is something he doesn't feel like he could/doesn't want to do? Similar to Joe Root batting 4 instead of 3 for England.

Even though IMO 4 should be his spot for the type of player he is (aggressive strokemaker) I agree with you in the sense he should be batting 3 given he's obviously SA's best player.

But then if he fails we're screwed. We've got to build around our strengths.

Head likes to play his strokes, it works for him, we should be trying to protect him from the ball zipping around early.

This is true aswell and perhaps the reason why he's stayed at four. Obviously SA don't have a ready made replacement for long term number three Callum Ferguson and are happy to try a makeshift one in Liam Scott which is a concern at the moment. We'll wait and see if a change is made.
