I know COVID affected the program, but why they have so many games in QLD this time of year when always wet is a mystery. That is nearly four matches in a row up there with hardly a ball bowled. Should have just played in sunny Adelaide!!

Very underrated bowler but think he is one of these guys that really needs the wicket to be doing a bit, similar to Starc needs there to be swing. Also not sure Bird would compliment the current pace attack. For mine Pattinson with his fire and brimstone is ahead of Bird.
Current test record 34 wickets @ 30
Current shield record 409 wickets @ 24.

Victoria 7/219
Harris 113*
Cant help but feel Harris is going to be one of the blokes who is great at shield level but has far to many flaws / plays to loose to be decent against the good test nations. I'm sure at some point in his career he will get al ton against the likes of Bangladesh or West Indies.
When we're bored as an exercise we should attempt to put an Aussie XI together of players who are in this mould, great domestic players but never really made an impact om the international circuit, there's a few that spring to mind like Sayers although it's hard to judge on one test, or Siddons who was denied a test debut despite being arguably the best bat in the country at the time. I was thinking of players like Marcus North.
Stuart Law would be my first picked in the ODI team.

I've quickly put together an XI for red ball cricket.
Cowan
Elliott
Wellham
North
Veletta
Bevan
Nevill/Zoehrer
Copeland
Bird
Kaspa
B.Holland
Kaspa a bit stiff, had a decent test average but was aided with a few outstanding games, in England IIRC.
No doubt I've missed some and added some that shouldn't be there, then there's an ODI list along with a a list of those that never debuted, the Tasmanians get ripped off there a bit.
Chris Matthews has claims for the side, I didn't realize Greg Matthews had a test batting average of 44.
