We had quick debrief after game before going up for a beer, then one of the boys said Uni were out having a centre wicket practice. To say our coach was pi55ed off would be an understatement. All our boys went up for drink, only their captain Wakim was up there. Had one beer and then said stuff this, will go down to the Bay to support the B's.

This club is the biggest bunch of arrogant pricks going around and was just the icing on the cake for several things they did over the weekend. Have no issue with them batting for two days as they are the ridiculous rules in place by SACA, will post the rest when bit calmer

Was so hoping Bays got up over Kensy so would have given someone to barrack for this week as they are a great bunch of lads and we respect them greatly, but looks like it will be "GO BROWNS" now :D

I've heard of some stupid rules but allowing a team in a semi final to win the toss and just bat the enter game is one of the most ridiculous around.

Surely even the winning side don't enjoy that. You play for the moments you take the big wickets in the field to secure the game.

They don't even deserve to be called a club. Bunch of parasites more like it. Contribute absolutely nothing to the development of cricket in SA.

Surely preparing for a final is more important than having a beer with the opposition. Especially given the majority of the team were sitting down for a day and a half. Bigger fish to fry.

The other 12 Clubs would not have done this, and the outcry and support on social media from other clubs shows this. But when you haven’t won a flag for nearly 25 years since 97/98 you have to try something, long may the drought continue.

They also took the Mickey out of their slash players. Knowing our best chance, like Glenelg, was to bowl first, they slashed batters with bowlers to basically give themselves two extra batters. Weatherald slashed with Schwarz who bats 10 in the B’s, Agar slashed with batter. Every other team slashes like for like players. Again, within the rules but does not pass the Spirit of Cricket test. Typical Adelaide Uni.

Go the “Browns”!!

Disagree on this. Spend 30-45 mins having a beer/coke/water with the opposition then go have a net session if you so wish.

Maybe we need to go back to the old days of about twenty years ago: semi-finals and finals are allowed to go into a third day, with compulsory declarations after 150 overs?

Bradman Medal tomorrow night, disappointing only 7 allowed from each Club - more cost cutting from SACA even though Clubs pay for tickets still

Done a phantom count, top four from two Clubs, so potential for them to steal votes off each other. Kerber wins for mine, and wont be there on the night!

Sam Kerber (Uni) 27 votes
Brad Davis (ST) 26
Will Bosisto (Uni) 25
Corey Kelly (ST) 23
Ben Bullimore (GL) 21
Bailey Capel (WT) 20
Conor McInerney (Wood) 19
Jake Brown (Kens) 18
Elliot Opie (Kens) 17
Ryan Gibson (WT) 16

So they had Weatherald (bat) into Schwarz (bowler)
and Agar (bowler) into a batter.

So your complaint about them slashing batters into bowlers is actually not the case when looking at the Agar situation (slashed a bowler into a bat - the reverse situation which in your opinion would have worked against them!).

Perhaps Adel Uni just looked at it overall that they had 2 going out in Weatherald and Agar (1bat and 1bowl), and brought 2 similar in, being a bat and bowler. They knew both were going out sunday so just listed two ins and didn't bother allocating the bat against weatherald and the bowler to agar.

I get you're passionate Eagles but its starting to sound like you're looking for mud to sling simply cause you don't like Uni.

Nobody likes Uni :D

They named their slash players before the toss, so under the rules they can do what they want.

Weatherald for Schwarz (opening bowler/No. 10 batter in B's
Kerber/Grainger-Balding (all rounder from B's)
Winter /Bidwai (spinner)
Agar/ Steele (batter)

Used to be like for like, so Weatherald for Steele as the batter, Kerber/ Bidwai both spinners, etc so not really in the Spirit of cricket according to most people. But Uni bend the rules, prepare a road when needed, a green deck two weeks ago when needed, basically cheating.

Yes, I hate Uni :D

So the 4 going out were:
Weatherald (bat), Kerber (spinner), Winter, Agar (bowlers)

The 4 going in were:
Steele (batter), Bidwai (spinner), Grainger-Balding (all-rounder), Schwartz (bowler)

Seems to me they matched fairly well overall, and you're just upset they didn't 'pair' them appropriately.

Given the outs were known before the game, the pairing doesn't matter IMO. The overall ins and outs were like for like.

If its a 2-week game, and the outs aren't known before the toss, its important to pair them appropriately, but in this instance, of a sat/sun fixture, where the outs were known in advance, and the 4 in and 4 out overall match fairly well, there is no issue here.

Aerie - They kept WT in the field for a day and half, it is respectful to have a beer or two with the opposition afterwards (not just the Captain). Clubs might want to revisit inviting them in afterwards during the minor round if this is the path they want to go down.

Now that they have removed the previous nickname the Adelaide Univer$ity PIrates$ has a good ring to it. The bookworms get an instant junior program!

Anybody know talented college players from other clubs coming out of year 12 for them to target during the preseason

Interesting that Adelaide have advertised junior trials, if it is a merger then shouldn't it be conducted under the merged banner.

Change of subject - Grand Final this week.
SACA have put the 1-day squad of 12 for Sunday's game v QLD on MyCricket so the "outs" for the GF are:

Uni: Agar, Weatherald, Kerber
Kensi: Worrall

(assuming Hunt, Grant and Winter fly back Friday night)

Forecast is a shower or 2 Saturday morning. Hopefully should be a good game.
