With constant rule changes in the game , when will the bouncing of the ball be removed and throwing up be standard.

Strangely enough I actually don't mind the throw up.

Not sure any team deserves the advantage from such a crucial element of the game like the centre bounce and clearances.

p.s. my opinion comes from someone who is 5ft 4 so don't appreciate or understand the art of rucking.

On the money Jim.

Watching ESPN last night and they were discussing why crowds should be allowed back to the NBA on production of a vaccination certificate and mask wearing.

Ive always loved the bounce and defended it as part of the games fabric, but given so much has changed and the significance of getting the ball out of the middle, I've now changed my stance and agree that it's time to do away with it. The umps have enough to concentrate on without needing the pressure of bouncing an odd shaped ball perfectly which even the best players can't get right %100 of the time.

Yeah i struggle with the logic, we want to have goal reviews to ensure 100% accuracy and consistency, we review tribunal decisions a billion times over to try and achieve the most consistent approach yet the AFL are happy with literally the most important part of the game, centre clearances coming down to the luck of the bounce.

Even from a safety aspect, the AFL is doing everything possible to make the game as safe as possible, yet they are happy for a bad centre bounce to have a ruckmen left a sitting duck underneath a bad bounce whilst the other ruckmen gets a 10m run up to jump all over him.

Greater Brisbane has been declared a hotspot, going into a 3 day lockdown, can't see the Lions hosting the Pies there on Thursday night.

Season 2021 impacted by COVID already.

That changed quickly, say the QLD premier interviewed an hour ago and she was calm and relaxed with no hint of a lockdown coming.

Got nothing to do with us, if Port are ever going to have bigger crowds than their rivals this is the year, Im genuinely interested in seeing how it goes as I would be pretty confident no-one thought it would ever happen, might be the tightest contest all year!
