Anyway, back on topic.

The frantic last quarter being the most productive for both sides.*

Even by outscoring their first three quarters, the home side unable to bridge the 28 point 3/4 time gap.

'Dogs fans on here, despite recognising areas where the team structure need addressing as they've seen it, seem to have also recognised the effort and focus of the playing group even in games where the boys have ended up on the wrong side of the ledger. Very pleased that this effort has finally been rewarded on the Table despite "constant negativity" of the supporter group. Apparently.

Onward and upward. :)

*Edit: In Centrals' case, equally most productive.

Definitely reward for effort

We don’t necessarily have the most talented, skilful, tallest side but they are trying each week.

Well done to the boys!
Also great to see good wins in the Ressies and the U18s. We are now off the bottom in all grades, a pleasing achievement at this stage.
I hope Groucho is smiling.
Cheers

P.S. Good to see Zane rewarded with guards of honour from both clubs, a wonderful clubman and champion footballer and bloke.

Ah, yes, almost forgot, well done to Kirkwood on a great career. Never ideal ending on a loss or being forced to pull the pin mid season, but back issues are hard enough to manage without the rigours of semi-professional sport.

Still, his team gave it a red hot go in the last which, thankfully from a 'Doggie perspective, their opponents were good enough and determined enough to withstand.

All the best to him for the future, and well done to both sides for acknowledging the champion that he is. :)

And well done to the Sturt cheersquad who instead of clapping off a Sturt and SANFL legend were too busy trying to beat up a woman and making racist comments. Sturt would be much better off if you stopped going to their games. You are an absolute disgrace.

Jarrad Schiller couldn't get close to the ball in the first term and yet walked off as BOG. 20 of his 25 possessions were contested, and he achieved the double double... clearances and tackles.
Great selections this week. The limited talls we had all committed to every contest. Our talented speedsters can only impact if the ball hits the deck.
Simples!

Also it's clear that lads such as Neagle, Weaver, Pisani and Barreau clearly now belong at this level.

Sadly this has been a constant for many, many years in our league and hasn’t been addressed by the club. (Yes you know who you are)
Their form last week at The Bay was as predictable as it was disgraceful. Abuse abuse abuse over the fence at players simply retrieving the ball.
Nothing changes.

Well done on the win to Centrals. it would've been unfair if they had lost today.
They also showed great respect to an opposition player after the reserves and league games.
Sturt were "outworked" today and it was a very disappointing loss.

Always take a win at Unley as it happens very rarely.Even though they kicked 7 goals in the last quarter we were able to respond with 4 of our own which was pleasing because in the past we wouldve folded and lost .

"His" little poster stunt certainly hasn't failed, If you're referring to Eric,
I think the banner highlighted the issue at hand to a lot of people who would have just let it go through to the keeper, if not highlighted.
It's strange that Port supporters think that the NAITS issue is a lot of crap & a waste of time, yet every other supporter doesn't.

More positives from yesterday's match,
we won at Unley, first time for 7 years,
we didn't capitulate in the last quarter, as Sturt piled on the pressure,
we had more inside 50's again,
The 'Dogs side isn't a great side at all but they are very fit & play for each other,
there's a real bond between the boys & they like the coach,
players that weren't given a real go under the previous coach, are now playing league & starting to gain confidence & believe in themselves,
if we can keep them all together, this side, with 3 or 4 key position recruits, will be a very good side in a couple of years.
