Interesting question I saw on twitter, how many of the Kiwi XI make the current Aussie team? I reckon their bowlers have us covered currently.

Lucky if there were 3 Kiwis that make our side in total.
Jamieson is probably the only bowler on that side that would get a game for us.

Only thing to maybe change is play Blundell as keeper/bat
Dave Warner will be missed!

What is the penalty (i.e points deduction) for slow over rates? I was told it's 1 point deduction for each over not completed.

Article 16.11.2 of the ICC World Test Championship playing conditions, a side is penalised two points for each over short.

Where did you get that information from DOC? I can't find anything about two points being deducted for slow over rates. One point per over was what was proposed initially and the articles I read about it have suggested it's the one point penalty. A two point penalty will surely see teams give themselves the hurry up even more if that is the case.

This article is from the 29th of December 2020 and is about Australia being fined 40% of their match fee and having 4 WTC points taken off them for slow rates against India at the MCG, I don't think it has any relevance now.

As recently as this week it has been stated that for the WTC 2021-2023 cycle that teams will be penalised 1 point per over short.

The big series is here, England v India
First test, at Trent Bridge
England won the toss and are batting first

England-
Burns
Sibley
Crawley
Root
Bairstow
Lawrence
Butler (wk)
Curran
Robinson
Broad
Anderson

India-
Sharma
Rahul
Pujara
Kohli
Rahane
Pant
Jadeja
Thakur
Bumrah
Shami
Siraj

Interesting selections for both teams-
Bairstow and Lawrence in for England, Robinson back from suspension so no room for Pope and a recognised spinner being either Leach or Bess.

For England Ashwin has been left out with is unbelievable, no Ishant Sharma either as Thakur and Siraj get an opportunity.

I’m surprised no Ashwin too, can hold a bat at times so weakens their batting.

Must be a real seamers wicket or are the Poms hoping Root is going to run through the Indians.
