Has there been any changes this morning?

Yesterday my brother's boss rang him to say not to go to work last night as they're going to close for a week.

Get's a call this morning saying work is back on??

He works for an engineering/machining firm, they make parts for the defence force.

That's interesting, are they classed as Construction or Manufacturing? Or does that matter if they're deemed essential or non-essential?

I started afternoon shift Monday then got the call from our workshop manager yesterday about our shift being cancelled then eventually got the message to say we are closed for the week as he was waiting to hear if Holcim is classified as Construction and therefore essential or non-essential. Hopefully we are back at work next Wednesday or sooner.

So f**k I hope everyone does the right thing and we come out of Lockdown ASAP, not that being at home is a bad thing!

Sorry to hear mate, I know I can be guilty of taking the piss out of lockdowns but then the enormity strikes when I get home and hear my step son is laid off without pay for a week, my daughter's work shuts and she's unaware of what happens moneywise in her industry and even reading your predicament chugs on the heartstrings, you're a great lad with great morals so hearing the affects it has on others makes me realize that I'm a bit selfish at times.

All the best mate.

Thanks LM.
I'll be ok for now but if this blows out then I'm going to be really stressing about it.
Like I said hopefully everyone does the right thing!
In the meantime the crickets on and I've got a whole heap of YouTube to watch plus I can do a few things round home. Also grabbed a heap of gym gear from my footy club gym yesterday so I can use and get inventive with that plus running and walking the dogs.

I think they can apply already.

A $370 payment for a minimum of 8 hours lost, $600 for a minimum of 20 hours lost.

Have to be in a hotspot though.
Given the small size of Adelaide just declare the metro area a hotspot

Feds are going to cover the metro area and state will kick in for the rest I’d say

I just had a look on myGov (I am not eligible) but ATM it only has Victoria or NSW listed as eligible to receive a payment.

If someone is stuck or genuinely in trouble hit me up, no questions asked. Whilst I’m in lockdown I don’t struggle so happy to help someone who may.

Essential certainly has strange definitions.

When all this shit first started I thought the word essential meant essential, it's a very broad spectrum.
