My mail from talking to people talking to SANFL officials is no play this weekend

Gearing up for the week after when providing no community transmission restrictions will be further lifted which will make footy more economically viable for clubs.

Also as other sports around the country have returned to sport post lockdowns there are demonstrated examples of those who should be in quarantine attending community sport. Happened up here in Darwin at the Rugby League three weeks ago.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

SANFL got 2 teams that can't play this weekend which creates more issues than community footy

If during this COVID crap over the past two years I had a dollar for every time I heard:
"I have heard... "
"I have a mate who *insert undoubtable source*..... "

From the ABC

SA’s Police Commissioner has told @abcadelaide when lockdown lifts, sporting clubs will be able to resume training but no competition will take place for at least 7 days
July 11th 2012....

No doubt, wasn't necessarily talking about comments in here - but in general.. every time something happens or is about to go down, every man and his dog "has heard..." what is going to happen. :D

Reality is, whilst some few might, most of us have NFI it's just speculating.

Anyway, I wont be sad about another week off - might actually get some players back from injury!

so what's going to happen from here - will the finals series get pushed out for a few weeks, will it be a top 4 finals series or potentially miss a couple minor round games? it's going to be very interesting to see what happens - i'm not a huge fan of a top 4 finals series as you can see what can happen finishing 5th - walkerville winning the granny last year. Modbury to finish 5th too would hurt cause they are a genuine chance come finals after knocking of flinders park & golden grove.

I say relax and dont think about it right now - dare say we will get an update once JK and his posse work through requirements and logistics.

He's been pretty good and maintaining regular comms, so i'd expect something this evening if not tomorrow morning.

From memory though, was mentioned we have capacity to play through to the Oct long weekend - so if we start next weekend, should still be able to fit the last 4 games + finals in.
