Finals week 1 in Brisbane, Adelaide and Tasmania. Port and Brissy to get home finals as per norm during the series.
Bye after Prelims, if Melbourne is out of Lockdown September 2 then possibility of GF at the MCG.
If not out of lockdown then it will most likely be in Perth.

Does Geelong have covid cases.
If not why wouldn't they get a final?

No crowds allowed at any Victorian grounds so no finals in Victoria

The top 2 teams will choose which ground they get to play at. That being the case, if Port aren't top 2, they won't be playing in Adelaide first week of finals.

Sorry, should have said "choice of".
Mind you I wouldn't have a problem if a final was at AO no matter where Port finishes if they can have a decent crowd as MCG tenants have had the same advantage for years when playing Geelong anyway.

Added to that with the way covid is going in Melbourne it really is past the time for them to hold onto any sort of hope of a GF at the MCG, should just be full throttle in planning for a Perth or Adelaide GF.

I don't care where the GF is but as a Cats supporter, I want to get the choice of where we play our lead up finals games if we have earnt that right.

Just read through the retirements list. Had to feel for Lin Jon who could only play 62 matches in nine seasons. How many times did the poor bugger return to the side only to get injured again soon after. Another one with a hard luck story is Venebales from WCE. Only 18 games for him and severe concussion issues. Footy's a cruel game sometimes.

He picked up two more Brownlow votes in his career than I did, one of them was absolute gift.

Plus in the last week there's been-
Eddie Betts
Jarrod Harbrow (The Suns current games record holder with 191)
Cale Hooker
Stephen Hill
David Astbury
Marc Murphy
Levi Casboult

Apologies if they've been mentioned earlier but yes retirements galore!

Perth and Adelaide both have their issues and demands that will take some time to work out.

Initially he was not offered a new contract by St Kilda and obviously just decided to pull the pin on his AFL career completely.
