Guys like Gaff, McLuggage are traditional wingers. Walsh and Merrett who were selected on the wings both attended the most centre bounces for their clubs I believe

Pick your 6-8 best mids only and maybe 1 or 2 on bench otherwise bad luck. Macrae misses for me, move Merrett to on ball and Amon/McCluggage to a wing. Papley and Stringer much of a much so one on the bench and Parish or NicNat to miss

It's an unwritten rule that the 2nd ranked ruckman will occupy the bench, I would've opted for Darcy but with no real proof or reason.

My initial process of elimination saw Macrae missing out, I love the guy but thought he was a bit down on previous seasons.

When it comes to the bench I think they should pick one for each discipline if they are going to automatically pick a 2nd ruck. If they are going to simulate a match-like set up then follow it through completely and have spare onballer, ruckman, forward and defender, they basically just chuck in the ones that got pipped in the guts.

Yep, they should pick a team that could play. If one of say Hawkins or McKay went down are they going to play Parish or Steele at FF?

That's a poor anology, who has a centre half forward on the bench every week?

McRae been outstanding this season imho, actually think on form he should poll the most Brownlow votes for the Dogs, but he won’t because he’s a lot more unassuming and less spectacular than Bont, and doesn’t share the same amount of Ump love.

You'd have a versatile tall at least, nowadays though most teams have two or three tall forwards and the same amount of tall defenders, they would also study the opposition for match-ups, weaknesses and change the team structure and plan according to the conditions.

I'll back your judgement, he's generally my captain in SC so I do have the faith.

Admittedly I don't get to watch a lot of games.

You nearly always have a medium to tall utility or a genuine forward/back amongst your bench. Not many would have 3 out and out mids on their bench.

Just watching Eddie Bett’s highlight reel.

No one will ever come close to doing what he did with his freakish goals.
Oh and his marks weren’t bad either!

Cyril stood up when it counted as was a great player.
As far as freakish goals go Eddie kicked so many and had that over Cyril IMO

If I was picking a team to play in a GF then Cyril would get the nod.
It’s the one knock on Eddie being his ability to perform in the big games.

Good summation.
Eddie seemed to get a bit lost on the big stage.
Cyril however, he grew 3" taller and 10 k's quicker. Gun!

Rioli's highlight reel is better than Betts? That's what we're discussing.

Very good, clubs need to know so they can get those package deals up and running. This time last I think I already had received something from Port regarding packages to Brisbane if Port had got in. Looking to do the same this year to Perth
