LaughingKookaburra wrote:The biggest chockers in SAAFL history are clearly Seaton Ramblers. The 1993 A2 competition was dominated by them.Kenilworth and Modbury were the closest teams to get near them in the minor rounds and even then they got touched up.Seaton won the semi (Then it was top 4) in which they defeated SHOC'S and Kenilworth beat SPOC then lost to SHOC'S in the prelim.
Now no one got within 5 goals of Seaton all year and they were that confident they would win the GF they had s***t loads of premiership tees made up before the game and even the PLAYERS wore them to the game and 'aparently' they were spotted around the town the night before the gf pissing on just thinking they had to show up to take the A2 premiership.
The result; SHOC's won the A2 flag by 1 solitary point in the biggest choke in SAAFL history. It is still laughed about to this day.

thank god you posted that. my boys old igs debuted in the ammos way back in 72 and went through the maiden year way down in a7 undefeated until the last day of the year, and mailed in a shocker in the big one and lost it comfortably. won three flags year on year up to a3 over the next few years, and have basically bounced around a2 (rarely), a3 (mostly) and a4 (occasionally in a bad one) ever since. the debut year still riles the old blokes still around the club.
Roger Woodcock -- 602 goals from a forward flank makes you a legend.

Blackwood in '05. Were by far the best side in the HFL competition that season and after losing just one minor round game went out of the finals in straight sets.

Have always been around the mark but haven't won a flag since '91. Try and buy a premiership year in, year out. Their ring ins never hang around for more than a season.

With Lofty & Uraidla streaks ahead of the rest and the new points system I cant see them being a serious contender for quite some time.

Langhorne Creek in the GSFL need to get a mention. They went in to the 07 GF's in both the B's and A's without losing a single game for the entire year only to lose both grand finals to Willunga.

They are not. But if you had read the whole thread you would see that country leagues have been bought in to the discussion. If its a major concern we can leave no stone unturned to have the post removed!

North Pines in 2002 in div 6 they were full of players that play div 1,2,4,5 now. went through the season without a team getting within 10 goals and got knocked out in straight sets.

Athelstone for last couple of years. I just loved when Barabas went on grass roots in 2006 just before the finals when they were sitting pretty on top of the table saying they were looking forward to being in Div 2 in 2007 before going out in straight sets. It was beautiful.

Would not have been in div 6,maybe div 7.Only time I can remember them playing finals in div 6 would have been 2004 when they got belted it the elim by Central United.

Injuries bit hard at the end of '06, and it wasn't to be. Raggies are there now and looking forward to it.

Dogwatcher wrote:Crystal Brook have an appalling GF record.
They've played in something like the last 8 GFs and have lost six (someone over there can give a correct fiugure), a lot of them were in a row too.
To their credit they've won two though.

Since winning the flag in 1996 - Loxton's played in 1998, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 grand finals. They won in 2006.

Ok, just to clarify the Crystal Brook comment. They last won the flag in 1992, then played in four consecutive GF's throughout teh 90's and lost them all (in 2 of them they lost by under 2 goals, and in 1 of those GF's they kicked something like 8 goals 22) and they lost the 2005/06 GFs. It has been said that they have something that compares to the Colley-wobbles
