Saints should get RSMU in the preliminary final

Yeah was pretty obvious once their a grade were out of finals contention they strategic loaded up the B Grade. Some absolute quality in that side. TBH I think they will knock off Min Man pretty easily (pending who Min Man can drop back into the team). Saints and Burra GF in the ressies will be an absolute belter.

Will be an interesting watch between Saints and RSMU......didn't he Saints beat them by nearly 100 points only a month ago. Will be interesting to see how the Saints boys back up from one of the toughest country contests you will see.

Watched a bit of the RSMU Min Man game and it didn't have anyone where near the same intensity of the day earlier.

Personally I hope the Saints get up...…...a BSR/Saints GF will be the perfect culmination of their rivalry this season. Whoever wins the flag will have earnt it that's for sure.

Saints by 40 this week

I agree the standard of Saturdays game was much better than Sundays

Fall out from Sunday - Min Man may be advertising for a new coach

Blake Launer will win it but got suspended on a club report
Be intersting to see how Chris schmidt goes had a purple patch through the middle
Haarsma and Longbottom from BSR
Helbig might get some from north

Hoping Matty Longbottom wins......always good to see a Spalding lad do well.

Will poll well but may have a few steal votes especially Haarsma and potentially Josh Slade early in the year.

Agree Launer will poll the most votes but was rightfully suspended for a very clear incident.

Saints go out in straight sets

I alluded to it in my posts earlier in the week but I sat in the grandstand last week above their coaches box and they looked very old and sore

Not completely surprised RSMU ran them of their feet in perfect football conditions

Going to be a great final…….I have two employees who play for RSMU so I really need the win BSR :D

I agree
They were run off there feet 2 weeks in a row
Questionable selections in the two finals with the young quick kids who’d played all year coming out and being replaced with older bigger bodies
Clearly didn’t work for them

I didn’t know who the Saints had in and out but somewhat incredible to hear that

I could almost forgive those decisions in the first final, lots of rain about the day before and morning of final, one of the smaller ovals in the comp.

No excuses for yesterday though, perfect conditions, they would have had to had sore bodies so some pace would have invaluable and an opposition who are renowned for their speed.

What do you expect to happen to the Saints now. Will the players all stick together and look to achieve the unfinished business or could you expect a few to head all different directions.

Wasn't at the final on the weekend but did the coach ever move Hardy into the ruck or down back???? I know how good a forward he is but I was so shocked that during the final loss to BSR Hardy wasn't used up the field to try and change momentum, even if only for 5 minutes, even if only to make the opposition shuffle their defence and look at match ups.

Seemed such a wasted resource down one end when BSR were just dominating in the middle.

Or was there some kind of deal in place that Hardy was only to play as a forward, I know during his time at Centrals he got a bit sick and tired of being the Mr Fix It and been thrown around the ground.

the assumption is that most will hang around, maybe one or two may not come back, possibly due to retirements, they do have 4 or 5 kids ready to go from the B grade so time for new blood to keep moving them forward

Hardy didn't move but it got to the point were positional changes were warranted to change the flow of the game
had two injuries in the first quarter so only had one on the bench for rotations after this time

Hardy played CHB last year at Jervois and dominated.

Sorry in advance to bombard you guys with questions, but here goes.

I'm thinking about coming out to Eudunda on Saturday, seeing as though my home club's season is done. Having never been to a NEFL game (and certainly not a GF), I don't know what to expect, so I thought I'd come here and ask.

- What is Eudunda like for parking/spectating?
- How much does it cost to get in?
- Do you guys have a matchday programme?
- Am I able to bring my camera with me?

Cheers for helping a brother out.

If you get there early be able to park around oval, if not cars are more than likely be parked on the golf course or school. the new clubhouse and deck are ready to go and there is a grassed hill on this side
lots of room to move, best set up for spectators in the NEFL
- How much does it cost to get in?
it was $9 last week so be that or $10
- Do you guys have a matchday programme?
yes available at the gate $4 or $5
- Am I able to bring my camera with me?
cant answer this one

Eudunda has a great set up, a lot of people bagged the place in Clare but when I first went there immediate thought was this place would be a cracker for a GF. Plenty of parking at the venue but not necessarily where you can watch the game from. Spectator facilities are great, beautiful decking bar and great hill to watch from.

Not sure about cost but the other final was $9 so I presume between $10-15

Yes to matchday programme and we have people taking photos all the time so I presume so but others might be better to answer that one.

If you do go make sure you send me a message on here and I will grab you a beer for making the trek out.

Cheers lads.

Of the country leagues having grand finals this week, the NEFL makes most sense geographically.

I'll keep you posted too, Whufc. You're a legend.

Matty Longbottom wins the Mail Medal by 7 votes with a staggering 28 votes from 14 games

Absolute jet, and a humble gentleman, in this last year has made my family extremely welcome joining the Spalding community.

No one prepares better than him…. Worthy winner.

Well done to Matty played well all year and well deserved
in the end the report didnt matter Launer got more votes after he was ineligible

Gonna go BSR by 25-30, if Milne gets away early and RSMU hit the hot spot they may be a chance

this cost the saints last week, RSMU hit in long and the saints had no accountability once the ball hit the ground, and no changes made made to regain the momentum

Beers are only $5 which is reasonable $6 a beer is poor form by clubs

So I ventured out to my very first NEFL game yesterday.

First thoughts; WOW, how good of a setup do they have at Eudunda? I'd go back and watch a game there in a heartbeat.

The Gameday magazine is top-notch, easily among the top few match-day programmes out there.

Having never seen a game in this comp, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I saw nothing but good footy. BSR jumped out of the gate early, and piled on the first seven goals of the game. RSMU toiled hard, and kept the contest fairly even from then on.

The only downside was that I didn't get a chance to catch up with @whufc, but it sure as hell won't be the last time I see a game in this league.
