GLENELG

Glenelg has named Magarey Medallist Luke Partington in its squad to face the Eagles in the Second Semi-Final at Adelaide Oval.

Partington, who strained his hamstring against Central in Round 17, has been working his way back to full fitness but must prove himself at training to be cleared to play.

The former West Coast Eagle has been joined in the Tigers’ 25-man squad by crumbing forward Will Chandler, medium-sized forward Jack Yates and reliable defender Brad McCarthy.

Pacy wingman Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has been squeezed out to the Reserves.

EAGLES

The Eagles have named two talls to be considered as they restructure their defence for the Second Semi-Final against Glenelg at Adelaide Oval.

Former Gold Coast Sun Clay Cameron looms as a like-for-like replacement for Rory Lehmann, who strained his hamstring early in the Qualifying Final.

Experienced Jake Von Bertouch can also play a role as a key defender but has also been preferred as a tall target inside 50m this year.

They have been joined by one-gamer Max Litster and recruit Dane McFarlane, who have been named on the seven-man extended interchange bench.

F: Stengle, D. Menzel, Lonergan

Norwood is poised to be boosted by a pair of star veterans for its do-or-die First Semi-Final against South Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

Triple Hawthorn premiership forward Paul Puopolo and dual Michael Taylor Medallist Brad McKenzie have both been named on the extended interchange bench after overcoming injury.

Provided they prove their fitness at training, they will come into the 22 to face the Panthers while Mitch Cotter has also been added to the Redlegs’ 25-man squad.

SOUTH

South Adelaide is set to regain a star veteran for its cut-throat First Semi-Final with Norwood at Adelaide Oval.

Experienced Matthew Broadbent, a late withdrawal for the Elimination Final, has overcome his hamstring strain to be named as a starting midfielder against the Redlegs.

Broadbent has been joined in the Panthers’ 25-man squad by Reece Milsom and Luke Bogle, who add leg speed to the extended interchange bench.

Defender Joseph Haines and forward Sam Overall will play their 100th League game.

Glenelg and the Eagles looks a great match up on paper. Partington a big in only strengthens them.

Glenelg have won both matches this year and I think the loss against Port (probably the biggest upset in modern football) will have hurt the Bays. Plenty of talk around that loss was what they needed.

I would have said the Bays by 20 goals but with that loss, I think the Bays will have to dig deep to find their previous form.

Bays by 15 goals.

South take good winning form into their match against Norwood who lost a close one against the Eagles.

Broadbent a good in for South and Norwood have named McKenzie and Puopolo on the bench. I don't know if either will play.

Norwood won both games this year. Both games were dour lock down low scoring affairs.

South's win last week was the best we played all year.

Panthers by a point.

Hayes on the CH 7 News had a shocker.....I learnt that Partington had won the Brownlow Medal and that South were going in unchanged...must have had a long lunch I think.
South with the return of Broadbent will be too good for Norwood. Eagles to get over Bays.

Bays in a canter, South narrowly if they bring their game from last week.

Not sure who will drop out today for Broadbent. I think Roberts but most seem to think Heaslip. Either way a tough call.

I'm with you on this Doc. I can't see how Heaslip gets dropped after 21 touches and five tackles last week. He was all over the ground and has that bigger body which is valuable in finals footy. Matty Roberts has the potential to be a game breaker but didn't do anything much at all last week. McKinnon is the traditional "23rd man" it seems but I thought he was very good last week laying seven tackles. I'm glad it's not my choice, it will be tough on whoever misses out.

MacKinnon plays for mine.

Did a great job on Coombe last week and I think he will be earmarked for Grigg.

1991 Samboy Cup U15 Championships, Round 2 game.

They had beaten us (Sturt) comfortably during U13's, U14's and early in the year in U15's. Didn't bring their game, had their eye on the harder oppo of Westies in the next game... came back to bite them hard.

I was under the impression that the reserves were playing at Thebarton. Did this change or am I dreaming?
