More like an elbow, bloody disgraceful. I believe the video of the game caught the action, would be good for the SANFL to have a look at it.

What time during the game did it happen?

19 min mark last quarter, ball goes out of bounds in front of centrals box. Thomas lifts his arm to Eagles player as he goes to collect ball.

Absolutely nothing in it, nothing. I had to replay it a few times, he missed him to start with & it was more a light attempted fend off.
Move on.

Agreed, a very shameful act that cannot be defended.

You are kidding. Nothing here to see. The angle from afar shows more to it than what happened. Look at the players (non) reaction as well as the crowd who were closer than the camera.

Luca should be in Perth playing for SA under 19s. Had a good year as undefeated captain for sacred heart first 18

How has this guy slipped through under the radar? I guess because he was playing college... he is the complete package. Fast, excellent contested mark and prepared to do the defensive work also.
If recruiters have done their homework, he should be drafted. If not, he will be playing plenty of league footy in 2022.

Obviously under the radar if your league side not playing him.
With how ordinary the league side was I thought a few of these blokes in the Ressies might have got some more games

yep nothing in it, more of an issue of how close he was to the boundary line, should have been at least 2m back

I don't think he was under the radar. Luca played his first U16 game in 2019, won the most consistent U16 player award from 7 games, then played 7 games of u18s, Last year he played 6 games U18s - maybe injury or college footy kept him out. This year 4 games U18 and 4 games reserves (1 regular season then the 3 finals). I don't know his age - maybe 17 or 18?

Surely he is better value than some of the other plodders in the League side

Luca's college had first dibs on him. The Dogs couldn't select him.

3 of the games he played U18’s on the same day as the League played, and I think 1 was even at the same time

At the ground, when I asked one of the "officials", they said if it weren't for college football he would've played league. Thinks he might be to young for the draft. Don't think he's gone under the radar, Chris Gowans knew his "story".

There no amazing story
He is a tanunda junior, boards at Sacred Heart
Played when he's available but as you said school takes preference and being captain of the school that was his focus (also captain of the first 11 cricket)
Had a badly broken finger early in the year so missed the start of school footy and was runner for centrals u/18 when available
Draft year is this year but not playing in the state games (been emergency both games) probably means he will struggle to get drafted however there is another one on sunday before reserves GF but not sure if playing in that or GF

Two more I think.
Got WA again and then a Allies side minus NSW players

I will admit that my words 'very shameful' were somewhat over the top. However, it was a needless action and did not look good. It is the first time that I have ever seen a coach on the boundary line make a striking action towards an opposition player (admittedly he was never going to make contact). I could have understood it if the Eagles player had run into Thommo. As it was, it was an instinctive action but did not look good.

Congratulations to the Eagles on the back back Premierships
In my lifetime Ive now seen 7 SANFL clubs win back to back flags
All clubs have achieved back to back at sum stage

My team Norwood did it 2012/2013 [ and a 3peat in 2014]
Of that back to back , i really enjoyed the 2nd in a row of the 2013 win over North Adelaide , a tad more that the 2012 win over West Adelaide
To me the 2nd flag is confirmation of a clubs greatness

These are the last times all clubs have done the double
Hopefully the list of dates is correct

2020-2021 Eagles
2016-2017 Sturt
2013-2014 Norwood
2009-2010 Centrals
1998-1999 Port Adelaide
1985-1986 Glenelg
1971-1972 North Adelaide
1911-1912 West Adelaide
1898-1899 South Adelaide

So does anyone think the 2nd back to back is better ?
