Can picks for the draft be traded with pre-season draft picks?

I'd be happy if North gave up the PSD No. 1 pick for 23 in the main draft if Sydney keep playing silly buggers.

I can't remember, but it involved our 23 and lower picks to give the dogs the points for Darcy I think.
17 is fair for Dawson.

ah yeah that sounds about right. Dogs anticipating an early Darcy bid, need points rather than picks.

Reckon pick 17 is about right as you said. Sydney would then have 2 pucks into he mid teens in a reasonable draft.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

Not the worst deal on the planet. Finlayson has had his 'moments' where he threatens be to be a real decent forward and third round can be really hit and miss.

Probably worth the risk for a team who believes they are in a premiership window.

Yeah, I reckon is a fair trade both ways, I think it will improve Dixon's output and place a heap more pressure on Toddy!

Ladhams is as good as gone but I'd take him over Marshall in a heartbeat, he kicked 3 or more goals four times in 13 appearances this season.

May not be a starting player but definitely adds depth and competition for positions, potentially gives them a different look if one of their key forwards struggles for form.

Nobody, he's insurance.

In 2019 we had Lycett, Ladhams, Dixon, Ryder, Frampton, Westhoff and Hayes on the list.

Since we moved Ryder and Frampton on and Westhoff retired we got down to Lycett, Ladhams and Dixon basically as rucks as Hayes is untried. We are one short in that department on the list and to get a 25 year old with 60 odd games for effectively a pick in the 50's is a cheap cover as a third ruck option so in the event of injuries we don't have to play Dixon there or expose Hayes if we don't want to. It's also cover if Ladhams goes which I'm told is increasingly unlikely.

When Dixon, Ladhams, Georgiades and Marshall are in the AFL side we basically have no tall forwards at SANFL level other than Ollie Lord, in his second year on the list and very, very raw.

Doubt he is moving to Port to be a backup. He will play most weeks

Do you think the best of Finlayson would get a gig before Marshall?

I may be on my own here but I think Finlayson has a bit to offer if it all clicks for him.

Not that stats are everything but purely based on stats his 2019 & 2021 output statistically was better than Marshalls

Happy to hear this. He's got our small forwards covered easily.

I'm not sold on Pete .. Plenty of potential but I worry about him between the ears and thus whether he'll ever reach that potential. I'd take Marshall over him to this point TBH (albeit that opinion could change quickly).

Port are very good in trade and draft periods .. 3rd rounder for Findlayson is a decent bit of shopping imho.

Cat fans, is he any good?

Got potential but needs to put on a bit of beef. Wanted to play up forward but he's behind a few in that part of the ground. We improve on a pick and you get a young forward. Hope he does well.

I actually thought we played too many tall forwards for night games or wet days, I think our strength is our pace and ball carry.

Not that I can really criticise, a 17-5 record is quite impressive.

Apparently Sydney's offer was Dawson and pick 12 for picks 4 & 17 (aqu from bulldogs for 23 and other later picks).

Insert 'we are laughing' gif...
