Jeepers Freo have done well there, Carlton just seem to get stitched up no matter which way they turn
Other way round IMO
Freo got screwed.

If Dawson played his best footy to date away from family then how good could he be when he's settled in his hometown?

Or he gets comfortable and plays just average footy for a big wage.

Looking forward to seeing this all play out.

That isn't going to happen. There is no way North give him up.

Hypothetically speaking....they've got pick 4 so wangle a deal to swap picks with north.
His management sell north he's gonna want to come home so let's make a deal.
Its only 3 picks difference.....again hypothetically.
Crows might have to give up a good player, that may want to go home to Victoria, as the deal sweetener.

I reckon your out of touch a bit here. No way do North give up pick 1 especially with a player of Horne's ability available this year. They will back themselves in to make him love the place and stay long term.

Collingwood could use their Pick 2 to get in on the action... oh wait....

We'll stick with Daicos thanks he's not gonna get homesick ;)

Effectively we get Cerra for pick 6 (potentially out to pick 8 in a shallow draft) and Lewis Young for SPS and lose a future 3rd (which I think is just a lottery anyway).

Plus pick up Hewitt for nothing.

Interesting.

Cerra and Hewitt to your midfield will have an impact straight away. Cerra will finally provide Walsh with some support that Cripps apparently was providing.

Yeah not overly excited by that one at all. Pick 52 is probably over for him to be honest.

He'll be a gun for you, you watch. He'll be a good distributor off half forward.

I think we will see more and more of these type trades.

A bit like Finlayson the best of Petrovski-Seaton is real decent. At 23 should just be coming into his prime and if he does well could still play another 5-7 years which you would take from any young draft pick.

The alternative is to try and win the lotto in the murky world of pick 52. One absolute gem in that lot DBJ, Kositschke is going to be ok and Willie Rioli has talent but...….

2010- Cam O'Shea PA
2011- Josh Tynan MEL
2012- Matt Jones MEL
2013- Darcy Byrne Jones PA
2014- Lewis Melican SYD
2015- Mackenzie Willis GC
2016- Willie Rioli WC
2017- Brayden Crossley GC
2018- Jacob Kositschke HAW
2019- Ryan Byrnes STK
2020- Cody Brand ESS

I must obviously not get the trading of draft picks for players like him.

You are spot on, WCE have effectively got a 5-7 year half forward with 90 games under his belt for pick 52. When you look at that list, he'd be 2nd or 3rd in that list - not a fantastic achievement in itself, but it means Carlton have entered into a lottery to get a player of his caliber in return.

That's what we'd be wanting from Sydney for Ladhams.

Which is overs IMO. Who's a better player? Ladhams or Finlayson?

Didn't say it was right, just what we'd want.

Right now? Ladhams. In the future? Ladhams. Probably.

Who's more of a DH and toxic to a group? Ladhams.

Probably gives you a chance to look at Hayes more.

If you can't trade out Ladhams, Hayes will be requesting a trade.
