I had the same with a person I would consider a mate last week - 3rd in 12months. Becoming far too frequent these days - despite the communication around mental health and people being more receptive/open to HEARING about it, seems people just aren’t comfortable TALKING about it. :(

I fearful even the ones who want to talk about it can't...there is an incredible shortage of psychologists out there compared to how many need them, and the waiting lists are horrendous.

He did talk, unfortunately that talk often involved his desire to end his life, he'd made a couple of attempts previously and those around him and sought help for him, he'd not accepted that help.

Unfortunately sometimes people just think it's the end of the road and they simply don't want to live anymore.

Purely from a personal perspective, I've had nights where I've sat outside wondering what is the point, feeling like that I merely just exist as a person and go through each day like another episode of a tv show, sometimes I talk, other times I don't feel like burdening other people with my bullshit.

Yes it's great to let it out and have some support but to some the problem will still be there tomorrow and beyond, it's the sad truth.

Yep, sometimes it works the opposite way.

I hope you're ok, it's devastating for those around to pick up the broken pieces and wonder "what could I have done".

Seems odd, split families involved? Hoping it's a custody issue maybe...

It's a tear jerker. The little girl is same age as my girl, and looks a little similar. Hopefully she's ok and its just a custody thing. Would be the most horrible thing not knowing where your small child is.

Agree but I think they face a lot of pressure from the police to get in front of the camera even if they don't want to. Greater publicity, greater public awareness, greater chance of finding the child.
