It was, pure arrogance at it's best, we had run ins with them nearly every time we played them. On this particular day Raj went boonta and we hit about 240 in T20, he was hitting them on to Main North Road on the full on Spruance Oval.

Where is Raj these days.....I know he spent a year playing in the comp I now play in for Orroroo as he was working as a police officer up there.

Still registered with Freeling as far as I know.

He was Unit junior and then repaid them by hitting a double ton against them when he was playing for Smithfield.

Craigmore have been there for quite a few years now, they just use the other ovals.

The nice new fence is on the main footy oval that used to have the turf wicket years ago.

That’s what I’m saying will they move to that oval soon

Whole lot of money to spend on a footy oval for 6 months of the year

No way will the footy club want another hardwicket there.
That turf pitch is still there and just a good roller away from being used again.

The white picket is ugly AF tbh and you cant sit on it. Not sure why Playford i went with that design. No consultation with clubs or Councillors apparently either.

T20 comp yesterday, nice day for it.. have to feel a bit for poor Athelstone, geez that drew the worst possible draw!

Angle Vale 6/99 def Two Wells 9/98
Dublin 124 def Eastern Park 7/109
Enfield 122 def Parafield Gardens 105
Craigmore 3/99 def Eyre Royals 8/98
Smithfield 7/153 def Virginia 6/151
Salisbury West 5/209 def Athelstone 103

Think I read somewhere the two highest ranking losing sides will get a double chance to make up numbers for the next round - that would be Eastern Park & Parafield Gardens.

1. Angle Vale
2. Craigmore
3. Dublin
4. Eastern Park
5. Enfield United
6. Parafield Gardens
7. Salisbury West
8. Smithfield

We came damn close to an upset win, AV getting the runs with 3 balls to spare. Cracking day for cricket weather wise.

The great man John Richardson leading AV to a heroic victory.

Interesting, was Eyre Royals the only club to use a permit player?

Had a giggle yesterday, umpiring our match - Indian bloke from Enfield comes out to bat wearing blank pants (thought coz it was T20 needed colour).. Mendrin asks what he's wearing then asks if he's even played this season.

Bloke replies no, this is his first game.

Mendrin was like well WTF are you doing playing today??

The dude played A grade the last two weeks   he thought he was asking him if he'd played any T20 games this season

The shit I deal with.

I went out to Virginia yesterday for a look.

Bascombe had a field day in the first over with some lusty hitting, once he got out Alex Leo kept the run rate alive while others came and went scoring the odd boundary too, they set 151.

It was then the Owen show as younger brother Zac showing the way with some big 6's and a half century, Adam Moss then came in with a cameo as the game starting tilting towards Virginia's way.

Fielding was woeful for both sides, more catches dropped than taken, Nato being an exception as he took a ripper running back with the flight of the ball.

As for Virginia, they are a quality club full of quality people, I've always had decent banter on the field with them then great laughs off of it, top bunch of blokes, we all talk about players doing a mass exodus at clubs, Virginia have that culture that keeps blokes coming out and staying.
