Hope this copy and paste works ok:

Players coming and going from SANFL clubs in 2021-2022 off-season ins and outs
Ex-AFL players are arriving and some big names are heading the other way as SANFL clubs top up their lists for next season. See all the latest ins and outs here.

The off-season has only been underway a month but there has been a flurry of player activity at SANFL clubs already.

See all the latest ins and outs and what they mean for each team heading into 2022.

ADELAIDE
Retired veteran David Mackay is a target of South Adelaide after he ended his AFL career following 248 games in 15 seasons.

The Advertiser revealed last month the 33-year-old was weighing up whether to play at South or pursue an off-field AFL opportunity.

Top up players James Mathews and Oliver Davis have moved to the Double Blues and Panthers respectively.

Meanwhile the Crows parted ways with Ronin O’Connor and Ben Davis earlier this week but have told the latter they will consider redrafting him as a rookie next month.

In: None

Out: Ben Davis (delisted), Tom Lynch (delisted), Jake Kelly (Essendon), David Mackay (retired), Ronin O’Connor (delisted), Daniel Talia (retired), James Mathews (Sturt), Oliver Davis (South Adelaide)

CENTRAL DISTRICT

Central District’s Nick Gillard and Brendan Dew will not continue on at Elizabeth next season.
Gillard, who joined the Dogs in 2015, told the club his body could no longer stand the rigours of league footy and ended his SANFL career on 48 games.

Dew played 59 games in the red, white and blue and also decided to finish up.

Both are set to move to community footy clubs, according to Central.

In better news, the Dogs announced this week that key pair Jarrod Schiller and Justin Hoskin had re-signed for 2022 while leading goalkicker Aidan Grace will also return.

In: None

Out: Brendan Dew, Nick Gillard

GLENELG
Significant leadership and experience will be lost with co-captain Chris Curran and experienced veteran Marlon Motlop calling time on their careers at the Bay.

Curran, who skippered the Tigers to the 2019 flag, left to focus on his medical career while Motlop will put his energy into business, work and music.

Fellow premiership player Matthew Uebergang has also hung up the boots.

Glenelg will undoubtedly remain an attractive landing spot for potential recruits after a minor premiership and grand final appearance this season.

In: None

Out: Chris Curran, Marlon Motlop, Matthew Uebergang

NORTH ADELAIDE
The Roosters have a nice homecoming story with Will Tasker – the son of premiership player Sean – signing on at Prospect Oval.

Tasker is a half forward/wingman who spent 2021 with the Brisbane Lions’ VFL outfit.

North has a handful of holes to fill though with six established players electing not to go on at SANFL level.

Tom Schwarz and Alex Barns will link up with their respective brothers at Adelaide Footy League clubs while former skipper Mitch Clisby and ruckman James Craig remain teammates but at Westminster Old Scholars.

The Roosters also take a hit in creativity and scoring power with the loss of Lewis Hender and Robbie Young.

In: Will Tasker (Brisbane VFL)

Out:
Tom Schwarz (Flinders Park), Alex Barns (Morphettville Park), Mitch Clisby (Westminster OS), James Craig (Westminster OS), Robbie Young (Tailem Bend), Lewis Hender, Elliot Chalmers (Myponga Sellicks)

NORWOOD
Norwood has arguably been the club most impacted by key departures with a string of quality campaigners leaving The Parade for various reasons.

Many have chosen to play at community clubs next season, including AFL-experienced quartet Mitch Grigg, Paul Puopolo, Cam Shenton and Brad McKenzie.

Veteran Richard Douglas has also finished up after two seasons at the club.

Norwood will have their work cut out to replace the experience and talent which has left but there will be plenty of opportunity for its junior products to shine at league level.

On the other front, coach Jade Rawlings has confirmed the club has spoken to former Redleg Trent Dumont.

The delisted North Melbourne midfielder is keen to return to Norwood if he isn’t picked up by an AFL club and turns to the SANFL instead.

In: None

Out: Mitch Grigg (Lobethal), Richard Douglas, Paul Puopolo (Virginia), Cameron Shenton (Golden Grove), Brad McKenzie (Payneham Norwood Union), Michael Talia, Zac Richards, Michael Knoll, Emmanuel Irra, Peter Bampton, Henry Crauford (Central Yorke)

PORT ADELAIDE

Port Adelaide boosted its key-position stocks, signing former Brisbane Lion tall Sam Skinner on Thursday after he starred for South Adelaide this year.

The Power pounced on the delisted free agent, who played three AFL games for the Lions across five injury-interrupted seasons but was delisted at the end of 2020.

Veteran Hamish Hartlett elected not to stay at Alberton in the SANFL ranks and went home to junior club West Adelaide instead.

Fellow delisted defender Jarrod Lienert should attract plenty of state league interest should he not receive another lifeline, mainly from former club Sturt.

Ex-North Adelaide forward Boyd Woodcock has signed with Queensland club Southport.

In: Sam Skinner (South Adelaide)

Out: Trent Burgoyne (delisted), Joel Garner (delisted), Hamish Hartlett (delisted/West Adelaide), Peter Ladhams (Sydney Swans), Jarrod Lienert (delisted), Tom Rockliff (retired), Boyd Woodcock (delisted/Southport Sharks)

SOUTH ADELAIDE
South Adelaide will be preparing for another assault at breaking its long flag drought and will be doing it without star man Joel Cross for the first time in 11 seasons.

The two-time Magarey Medallist headlined a decent hit of departures at Noarlunga, which also included midfielder Nic Schwarz and versatile big man Alex Cailotto.

On Thursday, former Brisbane Lion Sam Skinner was picked up as a free agent by Port Adelaide.

Jake Tarca returned to the Panthers last off-season after being delisted by Geelong but has left to play at Encounter Bay.

Rebounding defender Elliot Dunkin’s arrival from the Bloods will provide the Panthers with another good ball user and 19-year-old Crows recruit Oliver Davis showed signs this year he can make an impact.

Tasmanian utility Harrison Gunter could be deployed at either end of the ground by coach Jarrad Wright.

The Advertiser revealed last month the Panthers were in talks with delisted AFL pair David Mackay (Crows) and Keegan Brooksby (Hawthorn).

In: Elliot Dunkin (West Adelaide), Harrison Gunter (Glenorchy District), Oliver Davis (Crows SANFL)

Out: Joel Cross, Nic Schwarz (Flinders Park), Alex Cailotto (Sacred Heart OC), Tyson Brown (McLaren), Ben Haren, Anthony Biemans, Jake Tarca (Encounter Bay), Sam Skinner (Port Adelaide), Jack Elsworthy (Kadina), Jake McCreery (Cove)

STURT
The Double Blues were the big improvers in the second of half of 2021, winning seven of their last nine games to provide plenty of optimism ahead of next season.

And it was despite losing some key stars mid-year.

Dual Magarey Medallist Zane Kirkwood retired from SANFL level in May due to injury and this week revealed he would play at Tanunda with former teammate Sam Colquhoun, who is the Magpies’ playing coach.

Ken Farmer Medallist Mark Evans called time in June and will coach Pembroke Old Scholars while premiership pair Matthew Crocker and Jake Sutcliffe are also big losses.

Junior product Malachy Carruthers has returned after one season on the Swans list and should fill a spot across half-back.

McLaren speedster James Mathews is another handy addition from the Crows’ development list.

Sturt also announced the signing of ruck/forward Daniel Schoell, who has won Onkaparinga Valley’s best and fairest the past two seasons in the Hills Football League.

In: Malachy Carruthers (Sydney Swans/returned), James Mathews (Crows SANFL), Daniel Schoell (Onkaparinga Valley)

Out: Zane Kirkwood (Tanunda), Matthew Crocker, Mark Evans (Pembroke OS), Jake Sutcliffe (St Peter’s OC)

WEST ADELAIDE
One word to describe West Adelaide’s off-season would be busy.

The Bloods haven’t sat on their hands as they attempt to bounce back from a third straight wooden spoon and have wasted no time bringing in top-end talent and depth players.

Junior product Hamish Hartlett returning from the Power is one of the coups of the summer, especially given he knocked back SANFL opportunities with both Port and the Crows.

The 31-year-old – along with Kaiden Brand who returns after time with Sydney and Hawthorn – will provide valuable skill and experience for coach Brad Gotch.

But there has been some quality heading the other way.

Kaine Stevens, Josh Schiller and Kieran Lovell are big losses while the club was vocal in its displeasure at Elliot Dunkin and Mitch Duval seeking opportunities at rival clubs.

In: Hamish Hartlett (Port Adelaide/returned) Kaiden Brand (Sydney Swans/returned), Riley Corbett (Ganmain Grong Grong Matong), Liam Delahunty (Port Melbourne), Josh Carmichael (Merbein), Michael Mattingly (Kyabram), Bayleigh Welsh (Dandenong Stingrays), Clayton Gay (Dandenong Stingrays), Blair Rubock (Labrador)

Out: Kaine Stevens, Josh Schiller, Kieran Lovell, Nathan Batley, Thomas Murphy, Patrick Levicki (Payneham Norwood Union), Elliot Dunkin (South Adelaide), Mitch Duval

WOODVILLE-WEST TORRENS
The Eagles lost some great club servants in co-captain Patrick Giuffreda and stalwarts Angus Poole and Jake Von Bertouch.

Youngster Ben Jungfer has also left after featuring in their back-to-back premierships to become a ringer in the Western Australian outback.

But one of Woodville-West Torrens’ strengths over its dominant past two seasons has been the ability to recruit as well as anyone in the competition.

While the club has made no official announcements yet, it is expected to make the signing of West Adelaide defender Mitch Duval official in the coming week.

Former Adelaide and Richmond forward Tyson Stengle is expected to play for Geelong next season.

In: None

Out: Patrick Giuffreda, Angus Poole (Kadina), Jake Von Bertouch (Kadina), Ben Jungfer (work), Cooper Gaffney (Port District), Thomas Schmusch (Port District), Seb Kerrish (Sacred Heart OC)

Get used to the new norm with players going interstate or country, apparantley only one SANFL club can afford to pay the full salary cap we had before covid.
Ironically they're the club the SANFL were willing to let die with no financial help 20 years ago. How times change.

I think you can definitely put down Tyson Stengle as a big out for the Eagles.

Oscar Clavarino marches to Noarlunga.
The tall defender who was taken at pick 35 of the 2017 National Draft will take his services to the Panthers in 2022.

Having a couple of injury setbacks, the perseverance of the 22-year old paid off when after 1283 days since being drafted he would make his AFL debut in round 11 2021 for the Saints against North Melbourne.

He would go on to play a further 5 game for St. Kilda in 2021.

Oscar is a reliable intercept defender that can read well the play and is strong overhead.

Growing up in the South of Melbourne, he played his junior footy for Berwick FC before moving to APS school Haileybury College.

I'm hearing that Connor McLean is moving from Central to Norwood.
Not surprised if he leaves, we struggled to retain him last season.

Sad to see hiim go but, with Norwood losing a dozen players, he may have more chance playing league there than with us... strange to say.

If he can't get a game at Centrals, he is not getting a Senior game anywhere else (maybe West)

He will get a game with Norwood. Rawlings might have to pull on the boots if we can’t recruit anyone

McLean also works at Norwood Primary School from memory, so it's convenient if anything.
