The West Adelaide Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Darren Walters from VFL club Williamstown.

Darren is a 204cm ruckman who for the past 2 years has worked closely with ex West Adelaide & Williamstown coach Andy Collins. Darren’s key strengths include his ability to take contested marks around the ground and use the ball well by foot.

There was no question which club Darren wanted to join, “My family have always been West Adelaide supporters so growing up I always heard stories of the club and the great culture they have. So when they contacted me showing a high level of interest and confidence in my abilities, as well as a willingness to help me develop as a player, it was an easy decision.”

Please join us in welcoming Darren and his partner Danika to the West Adelaide Family.

To be fair, he didn't specify they were non-fiction stories.

The North Adelaide Football Club wish to advise members that Jarred Allmond will not be returning in 2022.

Jarred, 31 years old, has made the decision to pursue another opportunity next season.

Jarred contributed strongly on field over the last four years and played an important role in our 2018 success.

We now move forward and will announce more exciting additions next week as we prepare for the 2022 season.

Not sure that's an achievement if you're using Westies as a benchmark

is this salary cap related? you can't lose young guys like McKinnon unless there is disquiet with the coach (which I haven't heard) continual losing (not South over the last few years) or financial issues. Just seems to be a lot leaving who you would normally think would be providing the nucleus of the team over the next few years.

Same problem that Central have; on the small coin that players now receive, if they have to travel a distance three or four times a week to a club on the metropolitan fringe, many won't do it. Much easier to play for a club near the city or be less committed timewise to an amateur club or a country club.
A Bulldog in winter; a WTDCC Eagle and OICC Wolf in Summer!

South had a very young Ressies group in 2021 so some great opportunity for these boys to step up

Great opportunity but very tough task...

Look at Centrals over the last few years, one of the most consistent ressies sides full of youngsters. Not many have developed into really good league footballers though......as yet.
