We aren't the best anymore, we got beat by India A last summer, comprehensively.

Even with all of England's passengers if they have their 5 key players they will have our cover.

England are rank. They can't bat and without the Duke toy they'll struggle to bowl us out even though we can't bat either LOL. Australia 3-1.

I reckon it will be a close series. Australian batsmen have the ability to get themselves out and throw their wickets away at chasing the ball outside off stump. If we can settle quick then perhaps we will be ok. England won't be as bad as people think.

Yes they will be.

Horrible bowling attack.
Very ordinary looking batting lineup.

It'll be 5-0 to Australia.

England are bad but we aren't a lot better. I have watched them play in at least thier last ten tests. Micheal Vaughan sums them up perfectly 'whenever it is a 280 game England are a good team but as soon as it becomes a 400 game then England don't have a decent spinner or enough batting depth to keep up'. They don't have a Nathan Lyon, or an Ashwin or Jadeja (never can spell his bloody name lol) and with the kooka on some pretty friendly batting decks that means 400 matches not 280 matches. England go all right in the medium to fast bowling and Stokes will boost their batting but I reckon we win 3-1.

There was a lot made of 'India A' last year but no other nation on earth could call up the quality that India did from their reserves last year. They have awesome depth and aren't afraid of Justin Langers Plan A 'bounce the shit out of them' game plan. England will be though I think.

Won't be 5 nil. Our batting line up is fragile and we are tactically inept on and off the field. Poms will pinch one but if dropped this series it should be bye bye JL.

Australian batters are bad for chasing the ball outside of off stump and throw away their wickets very cheaply.

Australia and England will hone their respective Ashes preparations with a pair of three-day intra-squad practice games to be played at Brisbane's Redlands ground in the weeks prior to the opening Test at the Gabba.

As foreshadowed, berths in Australia's Ashes squad will be decided by an internal hit-out similar to the trial held in Southampton before the 2019 UK campaign began, a concept that ultimately paved the way for Marnus Labuschagne's rise to Test cricket.

The Australia trial will be held at Redlands (Labuschagne's home Premier Cricket club) from December 1-3 with the final Ashes squad to be chosen from an expanded group of 'hopefuls' that will be named in the next week or so.

England's warm-up for the first of five Tests will begin eight days earlier at the same venue when Redlands hosts a three-day fixture between the tourists' Ashes squad and the England Lions (essentially England's second XI), who will also be in Australia during the summer.

Those two England teams will then play a second warm-up game at Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane's inner-north (part of the newly developed National Cricket Campus) from November 30-December 3, with that venue to also host an Australia A-England Lions fixture during the first Vodafone Test at the Gabba.

Harris pretty lucky I reckon. Still, hopefully he succeeds.

No surprises with the squad selection, it's as straightforward as I assumed it to be.

The Australia A players to play in the warm up match have also been named-
Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Henry Hunt, Josh Inglis, Nic Maddinson, Mitchell Marsh, Matt Renshaw, Mark Steketee, Bryce Street.

Good to see Hunt and also Street get some recognition.

1. Warner
2. Harris
3. Labuschange
4. Smith
5. Whoever wins the scratch match "bat off" between Khawaja and head
6. Green
7. Paine
8. Cummins
9. Richardson
10. Lyon
11. Hazlewood

Richardson to play the first two tests especially given his last two red ball games at the Gabba (Test v SL and last Shield) he has taken 13/106 from 62 overs.

He stands the seam up prouder than a honeymooners d!ck, there will be nicks in the English top order than at a Nik Kershaw convention.

All IMO!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Starc will get first bite of the cherry, his left-handedness and experience will work in his favour.

Personally, I'd leave Harris out, open with Usi and have Trav at 5.
