I remember back in the day when Carl Rackemann was bowling, he veered out very wide when bowling and often cut the line with his backfoot but was never called.
Just seems to be one of those rules that nobody seems to give a toss about, umpires included.
Having said that, has there been a change in recent years that only the 1st point of contact of the back foot with the pitch needs to be inside the return crease and doesn't matter there after if it touches or cuts the line ?
I dont think anybody has any answers on where SA cricket goes from here to be competitive again let alone winning games ?
