Genuinely disappointing.. every **** wit on their moral high horse throws their unneeded opinion and views on a topic or a bloke.

I couldn't give a damn if he sent dick pics to my wife, or was banging her on the side.. that shouldn't factor in on his ability to do his job as W/K.

Yup, and half of these media commentators who are slamming him this week will next week be saying as a society we don't support blokes enough through mental health issues.

This whole thing is weird. The brother in law also sends pics, the girl at the receiving end allegedly stole from Cricket Tasmania & wanted payment for her lawsuit

The wife has said she's no Angel either
"At the same time, Tim and I had been in a long relationship. It’d been 10 years, and God knows we had had our ups and downs, and I don’t claim to be perfect, but I was still completely rocked."

Rank these most heinous cricket scandals..

1. Match Fixing (Cronje, Warne, Waugh, Pakistan etc.)
2. Ball Tampering (Warner, Pakistan, everyone else)
3. Bob Woolmer's death
4. Terrorist attacks in Pakistan
5. Trevor Chappell underarm
6. Ben Stokes punching on when on the gas
7. Ricky Ponting punching on when on the gas
8. Shane Warne drug scandal
9. Tim Paine sending some dirty text messages to a skank half a decade ago when no one gave a shit about him.

Paine is just in the wrong sport.. if he was playing AFL or NRL, they would've made a stack of meme's about him, and he'd probably be hired as a boundary rider or special commentator.

Agree.

What I find more disturbing about society is that I was led to believe 'blackmail' was illegal. From what I have read and heard through the media it almost appears that Tim Paine has been 'blackmailed' or maybe extorted is a better word to a degree by this lady, all because she lost her job at Cricket Tasmania.

Yes what Tim Paine did was dumb, yes what the hell was he thinking with such a good looking wife, but does he deserve to lose his job....NO imo. The issue was dealt with, he worked through it with his family and it was essentially a closed case. He doesn't deserve to have to go through it all again years down the track because her life didn't pan out the way she had hoped.

Hope Cummins bowls well first up because you can just see the media jumping all over the captaincy affecting his bowling stories being written as we speak.

Paine's walked away from the game.

I do actually feel a little sorry for him. That said I am of the opinion, the team comes before the individual, and this thing has a silver lining.

So we get a new younger keeper - either Carey or Inglis. They may not be quite the standard gloveman of Paine.

But I think both are the equal and most likely superior batters than Paine.

Paine was a BOG average captain too. So I think we move on from him at a good time. I'd like to think that while Cummins is bowling that Smith is pulling the strings.

Happy with Cummins but not Smith.
Smith should not hold any captaincy positions due to the cheating scandal

Yes, as shit as the whole situation is for Paine and CA it has been it has brought forward in time the inevitable anyway, that being the end of Paine's stint as test wicket-keeper and now for the next one obviously being Carey or Inglis, interested to see now which one gets the test debut and how they go. What a crazy way to make your test debut!

Given the unfortunate start to Paine's career and how long it took him to get back into a position to be the national gloveman, would've been nice to have him finish up on his own terms - or forced out via form.

I’d say he was forced out of the team on form….. very poor form at that!

You'd need to let him breathe a little to get maximum length and circumference one would think.
