In a week's time I'll be sitting on the Great Barrier Reef sipping beers before our helicopter flight back to Port Douglas where we will be doing a sunset sailing cruise. Temperature forecast for every day we're up there: 31 and mostly sunny with a minimum of 24. 8)
3 shifts of work to go.

Trip is cheaper than going to Brisbane or Gold Coast.
$350 including flights and accom but we did add in a few things to stay at a place I wanted to stay and get a hire car.
The real expense is the reef trip, over 1k for the two of us but it will probably be a once in a lifetime thing for my missus as she's never seen the reef and I've never been in a helicopter before which should give a unique view of the reef, rainforest, etc.
Oh, and booze, there will be a fair amount of that drunk!

Yep we had a late (covid) start here in Malbin.... only to have round one washed out, well flooded out actually.

Looking ok for this weekend. Scoring for the 1's tomorrow, then a Vets game Sunday. Can't wait!

Looking forward to the kids here at school finishing this week, then me finishing next Thursday and finally getting to spend a significant amount of time (5 weeks) down at the shack in Goolwa...

Relaxation... apart from all the work I have to do down there, but at least it is there and not here...

The metric doesn't quite have the same impact as the imperial does it, imagine how much shitter Russell Crowe's band would have been if they were called 9.14 Odd Metres of Grunts.

I had mine last night...always suspected one of my new workers was a pig and a cheap skate. so comes time to order the meal, and there was shared plates of entrees and then you order a main and desert. This guy was not satisfied with the shared entree, so ordered two mains, and two deserts for himself only.

Then this morning we have a room full of gifts for employee children as part of the social club - he has no children - and upon seeing the room full of gifts kindly offered to take them all off my hands and take them home to use for whoever he wants as gifts.
