I did similar a week or two back, few chip packets, a couple of bowls, a few glasses and when I gave him both barrels I got "WTF we're you doing in my room?" he wasn't surprised when I told him "It's actually my room, you just get to stay in it".

We got the "I think I'm Gluten intolerant" two months ago....

Why this, I feel sick after dinner yada yada yada.

So we mis things up get her some gluten free stuff

We then unpack it all, has OJ for breakfast barely eats at school, comes home will smash half bag of chips, makes large ice coffee, eats more biscuits etc within two hours of tea and then wonders why she feels sick after eating dinner #-o #-o

The Gluten intolerant fad soon passed within a week of eating tasteless cardboard....

Kids I tell ya, back in my day.....

We felt lucky and loved just to get a backhander for not bringing the two packets of cigs back fast enough from the local deli...

my parents rarely if ever struck us can count on one hand the number of times and that's allowing for having two fingers amputated...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I get the "I am going to clean my room".. or "Yeah was planning on doing it tomorrow".. or the best one "I did clean it" - as you look at the swathe of mess across the room.

Or the age old classic technique of either pushing everything into a pile in the corner, or just assuming everything is dirty and dumping in the laundry.

I guess now I appreciate more why my mum was always so cranky at me

My step sons years ago had to use a clean towel every wash as they ended up on their floor.

I'd use mine for the week and hang it behind my bedroom door.

One evening I go to use said towel only to find it on their bedroom floor, I then picked all of their damp towels and placed them over their beds and pillows as they were away for the night.

My towel never got touched again.

All my children put their dirty clothes in the dirty clothes basket, put the washing on when there was a load, hung it out, took it down, folded and put away whoever's clothes were in the wash and ironed what needed ironing.

Might also add that there rooms could have been filmed for Better Homes and Gardens at any stage as they kept them immaculately clean and tidy.

As they did all the shopping and cooking, we ate as a family and no one left the table until we were all finished and had discussed what had happened in our lives that day. They would then insist that Mother and I would go to the lounge room whilst they did the dishes and gave the house a once over.

What gives me the sh1ts is reading all your bad parenting stories and blaming the children.

Bad parenting? They leave dishes in their room as socks on the floor, they aren't smoking crack and killing hookers.

I've had this one from my 21 yo daughter numerous times when I've ask her to wash her car on the weekend, "I was going to but it's going to rain on Thursday"
Whoops, there goes another year. Whoops, there goes another pint of beer.

I fell apart at ironing.

Had a friend stay over and she was bewildered that I didn't have an iron.

I now have an iron, it's still in it's box in the car though.

First Covid test last week I go to the airport. Get there and about 6 cars in front of me, in and out in 10 mins.
Today I need a day 6 test and the missus needs a test too,
She announced last night we will go to Port Adelaide as you can book in a time.
Got here an hour ago and still have 36 cars in front of us.
I should never let anyone organise anything for me.

The wait was longer than that at the airport this morning.

Cheers, that makes me feel a bit better
Not that I'm in a hurry as lining up for a test is the only thing I'm allowed to do out of the house.
