Everyone is getting around Carey being selected.. but I cant find anywhere that actually confirms him for the role??

I read Inglis returned home for a planned family visit, but will be re-joining the squad again in a couple of days?

Guys like Warne and Ponting still pushing for his inclusion.

If it's on SA Footy, it must be true!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yeah, like he needs any further reassurance.

FWIW, it was pretty much locked in on the Today Show this morning.

As a captain you don't want to over bowl yourself but you want to take the bull by the horns and lead by example, even at community cricket just hearing the captain say "let's see how you go with one more" inspires you to dig deeper to get an extra over or two, it doesn't happen as a skipper, you just pull up. It's not easy to tell the next bowler that you're just having one more than you're done, as a bowler you tend to think you're closer to a wicket than you really are at times.
Pfft, when I was skipper I would open the bowling, bowl 10 overs straight, then take the gloves.

A good read about Cam Green, I really hope he can kick on and build upon to start to his career and have an impact on the Ashes.
Looking forward to seeing how Ben Stokes impacts the series too.

One week to go until the first test now, can't wait!

What is the England XI likely to be?

Burns
Hameed
Root
Malan?
Stokes
Bairstow? Pope?
Buttler
Wood
Robinson
Leach
Anderson / Broad
Dave Warner will be missed!

Malan will bat 3 and Root 4.
Pope will probably play over Bairstow.
I'd like to see both Anderson and Broad start with as the third seamer being Robinson and Leach.

Not like Aussies can talk but the only bats that are quality are Root and Stokes

Poms wildcard with the ball is Robinson might be a touch slow but if he bowls in the right areas he does enough off the pitch
Dave Warner will be missed!

Must be everyone except for me, we're not that crash hot, I think it will be a ripping season.

They have arguably the best seamer and best all rounder getting around along with quality bats.

We are too reliant on too few with the bat, mind you one of them is Steve Smith, he'll score 600+ for the series.

I agree this will be close series.

To me they are evenly matched sides. Big question marks over both batting line ups apart from one standout in each side (Root/Smith)

Two evenly matched bowling line ups that are the strength of both sides, Anderson get's mild avarian flu around the kookaburra so he's not as good out here compared to England with the duke rope seam.

Too me the series winner will be the team whose batsmen stand up and put defendable scores on the board
