As much as I don't like him, I totally agree with you, I just couldn't bring myself to write it.

Even with the addition of everyones favourite Alex Carey its still a very unlikeable side.

-Warner
-Labuschagne
-Lyon (Has become increasingly dislikeable as each season passes)
-Smith (it breaks my heart but his almost now dislikeable)
-Starc (because he still gets a game despite bowling so much red ball rubbish, not his fault I know but meh)
-Langer (the absolute pin up boy of a 90's coaching cliché)

It's astonishing hey?
Everyone loved Warner when he was transitioned into a test player after dominating the white ball scene.
We were infatuated with our first ever Marnus.
We named Lyon the GOAT as we all loved him.
Steve Smith was everyone's favourite.
Starc couldn't do a thing wrong.
Langer's grit and determination was the admiration of any astute cricket follower.

Now as much as we love to see them do well, we all are waiting for the new legends to come through.

Apparently Trav is getting the nod over Usman for the No 5 spot

Anything to stop the Strikers from winning I guess, eh selectors?

Shit, I thought they'd penciled in Usman.

How good are we to have two players in the test team yet consistently sit three rungs lower than bottom on the table.

Watching some Ashes highlights on FOXTEL and boy do I miss Bill Lawry’s commentary

Us older blokes were so spoilt with quality commentators like Bill, Richie and Tony

Respectfully disagree

I think the Bill and Tony characters from the 12th man took over in the last 20 years of their commentary and it became all about the stereotypes of over excitement and niggling compared to actual commentary.

“OH YEAH, WOW IT’S ALL HAPPENNiNG! BEAT HIM ALL ENDS UP!” Um no he’s just played down the wrong line and it beat the bat into the keepers gloves, dot ball.

Best commentators were Ian and Ritchie IMO who described the play and analysed what was going on

I used to cringe when Bill came on from the midded 90s onwards

Watching the 1st test blight now from 2013-14 is sad because it’s the first one without Ritchie
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I bought the new cricket game this morning, Cricket 22 on PS4. The game was released Thursday, delayed a week because of the Tim Paine controversy and Paine was taken off the front cover replaced by Pat Cummins.

My copy is one which still has Paine on it!

We all like different things, unlike SA Footy folklore neither of us are wrong. I tolerated Ian but enjoyed the other three.

Tony and "Bull" had great comedic value as well as above average cricket nous.
Maxie Walker was a gem as well, and Ritchie...well its all been said.
Ian Chappell was boring as bat shit most of the time but elite cricket knowledge so you generally listened to him.

The golden age of commentators and cricket in general.

Why does everyone think we'll belt this side?

Because their batting is shit and Leach won't frighten anyone over here.

If it's a greener track which i have read it may be, they may play Broad and Anderson and save wood for the flatter tracks from test 3 on. I'd like to see them open with Crawley as he is well suited to Aussie conditions but I doubt they will.

It was a "no-brainer" according to the WA Gov.

Hopefully Hobart gets it, Canberra the next option. I don't like the idea of cities getting two test matches in a summer (if it can be avoided with COVID restrictions of course).

Last time was in 03-04 Zim and India (SCG) before that 85-86 NZ And India (SCG) and the last time the MCG had two tests was 81-82 Pak and WI.

Used to be stock standard Sydney and Melb alternating having two tests every 2nd year.
