Both Crows & Port play us in Tassie.

Melb top six, can't pick the rest. Geelong got the potential to plop imo.

I've found it pleasurable going down to Tassie, especially during the wet season.

@Corona Man we’re heading over for round 1 (got $41 flights both ways). Will have to catch up for a lemonade at the G & hand over some long overdue red wine!

Chris Davies having a whinge, his words, that Port have played round 1 away the past 4 years and that it should be alternating (which I agree with) yet is proud that Port have hosted the ANZAC round for the past 19 years.

Facing Brisbane at the GABBA in round one is potentially as difficult as it gets, but that's how it rolls, could be better off getting it out of the way with.

I think it's every clubs prerogative to have a whinge about the draw in some way or another, it means very little once the horse has bolted.

Can Carlton finally make the finals? They allegedly have the easiest run but I have them penciled in as the following:
W: 6
50/50: 8
L: 8

It's all semantics at the moment isn't it? We might know what we'll be like but what about all the other teams? Injuries? Weather? Form? It's a raffle trying to predict anything at this point. in saying that, everything is pointing toward making it due to the draw but all it takes is one injury and our plans are out the window.

I'd expect Richmond and WCE to improve as well and maybe even Freo. So that would mean at least three sliders. Bummers, GWS? One other. I dunno.

Yup, very hypocritical from CD.

I actually also disagree with him wanting to host round 1.
I enjoy round 1 being away.

Every year the season creeps up on us. Always seems to be 'too early for footy season'. By starting with an away game it is easier to transition into the season as a fan.
Also I often still have cricket commitments so would miss round 1 if it fell on the saturday.

As for the club, starting with an away game means there is one less 'travel' week to slip in once you're into the rhythm of the season.
Get it out of the way when you can program an 8 or 9 day lead in to round 1, vs if you get that trip on say a 6 day turn-around mid season.

Tough draw indeed but don’t leave Melbourne for the first 2 months of the season so hopefully we can jag a few early. End of the day if we are good enough we will win enough

Absolutely it is, I actually 50/50'd the Richmond clashes as at full strength I think you guys look good on paper and I think Richmond are on the slide.

I thought WCE should've been cherry ripe in 2021 but perhaps an ageing list is displaying the cracks but yes, by all means I think Freo will will be big improvers, they are very unpredictable at the best of times but they have got games into kids.
