Yep... its as bad as a dropped catch.

You are correct, Carey needs to go for those catches, but at the same time, Warner should also be going for the catch. That's why they stagger slips. In Adelaide Warner was jumping out the way and today he got a hand to it, but his weight was going the wrong way.
Warner didn't go for that catch

Warner doesnt fill me with much confidence in the slips, he's takes the ones he should but anything not in the bread basket he doesnt move very well at all.

Over in 2 and a half days, cost Cricket Australia a fair amount of money

They may want the crap pitch back when the game went the full five days

It's a fine line isn't it. The Poms have been meek at best though.

They have arguably the best seamer and best all rounder getting around along with quality bats.

We are too reliant on too few with the bat, mind you one of them is Steve Smith, he'll score 600+ for the series.

I agree this will be close series.

To me they are evenly matched sides. Big question marks over both batting line ups apart from one standout in each side (Root/Smith)

Two evenly matched bowling line ups that are the strength of both sides, Anderson get's mild avarian flu around the kookaburra so he's not as good out here compared to England with the duke rope seam.

Too me the series winner will be the team whose batsmen stand up and put defendable scores on the board

Thought it would be closer than the. The English batsmen have been putrid apart from Root.

There lack of ability to stand up has been the difference.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

And in that have been some shit house shots as well.

I mean that ball from Starc was a ripper but in general there batting has been horrid.

Root has to be the worst, best batsmen in a team in test history, if that makes sense.
