Yep whilst I agree and that was woeful by the batsman, if you're a tail ender, show some grit FFS. Backing away like that is piss poor.

Good bloke, I doubt he’ll be in tomorrow, did he go to Tassie?

Not sure, different areas and I haven't been in yet this year, I doubt it though they just offered him a permanent role.
Whoops, there goes another year. Whoops, there goes another pint of beer.

I don’t disagree with that but to me it was symptomatic of a beaten, divided camp who just want to get home.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

The issue with Lyon not bowling wasn't a selection issue, nobody could have foreseen the poms being even more ******* pathetic than were previously.

Like honestly, there batting woes are diabolical right now.

Good side back then, had some great battles.

Now I’m scratching my head trying to think of your name, I remember Haese and Bell straight off the top of my head,I’ve damaged a couple of the few brain cells I have since then.

Such an even performance. Everyone contributed. How long until Cam Green is the best cricketer in the world?

3 Tests in Pakistan, 2 Tests in Sri Lanka and then a Test vs Afghanistan in India prior to a 4-Test series against India prior to next summer. That will sort the men out from the boys.

The best thing about Green was in the last couple innings he was able to work the singles to keep the scoreboard ticking over, which was something he had to learn after last year's India series.
He seems to hit the ball as hard and cleanly and simply as anyone since Gilchrist.

It was an incredibly even effort, which probably shows a good cameraderie off the field.
Head was also instrumental in Adelaide, the counter-attacking cameo on the fourth day when we were 4/50 and not scoring took away the Poms last chance in the series.
Labuschagne was possibly the most influential when the series was on the line, but didn't finish it off.

How ordinary is the Poms batting? When we were creaming them in the 90's and early 00's, their batting at least made us work hard in the field. This series you only need to get Root out and Malan in the first couple tests, and you knew that was it. Bairstow, too, at least is a fighter. Don't know if he wants to keep, but it makes their batting look better with him at 7 rather than Buttler, who is one of Jim's Proteas pea-hearts.

**perhaps

Hopefully Pakistan goes ahead in one way or another, I think the sub-continent will suit him and a flurry of runs against a couple of minnows will get his confidence right up.

Noticed Usi walk off from celebrating last night , thought it was odd. Turns out because alcohol was being sprayed, against his religious beliefs, we moved away. Cummins saw this, told his team to but the alcohol away then called Usi back. Now that’s a captain

Will be interesting to see what pitches are served up. Expect Pakistan to be your traditional test match wickets, but Sri Lanka will be very very spin friendly, as could be the pitch in India.

Going to be so interesting to see how we line up in those tests especially Sri Lanka/India where it will 100% be ultra spinner friendly.

You would think they will have to play two specialist spinners (understanding Labuschagne, Smith, Head could also bowl some overs and even at times be very dangerous).

Watched a fair bit of the India/NZ series and NZ were fairly competitive playing 2 specialist spinners and one batting spinner to match India's 3. That leaves a big predicament for the selectors though if we go down that path as our pacemen have been great and our biggest weapon. Im guessing if a side was picked tomorrow to play against India or a spinning wicket we would go with.

Picked Cummins and Starc as I think there combo would work best, Cummins and Starc are our biggest wicket takers and would only be bowling small stints in between the spinners having a rest. Im thinking Boland and Hazelwood prefer having those longer 7-9 over spells where they can settle in and get a rhythm. Not sure the pacemen would get that luxury over in India.

I'm highly doubting India will produce pitches with anything for the pacemen despite having had some pace friendlier wickets in recent times, they wont risk that against us.

197 all out my prediction

Ive gone by formula for that total

I want everyone to take a deep breath , and concentrate on this post
It might take severALEX reads to fathom this

Here goes

This is how I derived the formula of 197

303 + 155 = 458 runs made by Australia
188 is what England made in their first innings
270 was the Australian lead

24 + 49 are the runs made by Alex Carey = 73 in total

270 less Careys contributions of 73 = 197 = my formula
Had England made 197 i could have posted Carey was the difference between the 2 teams !

124 was the England total , and my prediction was way off

BUT

197 less Careys 73 = 124

England made 124 ....

Unfortunately as an Englishman who as a rule can't stand the Australian Cricket team (except for the South Aussies, always want them to do well), I am suffering some serious issues with Cummins.

I think he is a star, not only as a cricketer but as an excellent human being. This does not compute with all previous Aussie Captains, except for Mark Taylor, I liked him as well...

Don't worry I think a lot of people have the same issues with Joe, pretty hard bloke to hate imo. Especially when compared to Atherton, Hussain and co.

I wasn't a Tubby fan though.

I generally find that I like most pommy players, Freddy is one of my first picked for favourite players XI.
