Tradition? Can't think of any other sport other than Motor Racing where it happens, never seen it on the AFL GF dias

The champagne squirt lasted 2-3 seconds, no one would have noticed if they didn't take it out onto stage

Yeah sorry mate, I thought it was more of not taking the champers out there at all, could've just had one each end and pointed to the outside flanks of the group, it should've been pre-planned to ensure none landed on him or near him.

TBH, I don't get the dousing in champers thing at all, yeah pop the bottle and have a swig, I used to go nuts at team mates thinking it's cool to pour drinks over me.

Unpopular opinion, but I cannot stand Nathan Lyon. Sure his wickets stand up, but think he is a very overrated bowler, and acts like a tool when he shouldn't be.

Agree has become very unlikeable...…….the ball drop celebration was my final straw with him.

His definitely grown to love himself as his wicket tally grew.

A good average bowler who has become a big head!

Seemed very humble early on but has changed a lot in the last few years.

His time is near though………,

Was he nicknamed the GOAT for greatest (off spinner) of all time or was it an evolution from Nice Gary (after Gary Lyon) to Gary the Goat (after the instagram goat of the same name)
I remember posting a few years back that referring to someone as the Goat (greatest of all time style) was getting overused

As controversial as he was, I would have thought Murali has him covered in that spot

It’s nothing bad but funny watching Cummins signal to Lyon not to do something

Have just seen video of Lyon, Root, Carey, Head & Anderson getting kicked out of an outside rooftop bar apparently from a noise complaint :partyman:

The GOAT was a tongue-in-cheek, larrikin thing something to do with Ashley Mallett. May have been when he overtook his wickets.

Lyon was saying "When they sing we go 4-nil 4-nil" Cummins gave him the cut it signal.

I thought it was "4 nil up stand up, team song team song", and he looked at Cummins and Cummins has given the ol' "cut/c nup" signal. Lyons backs backs down

Good to see the old traditions are still strong, The captain says what goes.

Good to see Carey and Head out late, not used to celebrating big wins as South Australian Cricketers....
