I would hate to be paying top $ for a shack up here on Yorkes the last week

Hopefully a gutsfull of rain coming on the weekend will make me feel better about the weather

Crops all off by now? Rain now doesn't mean much other than settling the dust for a bit does it?

The fruit growers in the Hills would be very nervous though

Rain needed now to keep the topsoil in the same spot ready for next year!

Definitely rain is a good thing, modern farming practices is all about conserving moisture but for now we have got less than a foot of rain water left in our tanks plumed to the farm house. It can rain it’s lips off

The rain amount has come back a bit now. Early in the week it looked like 50-100mm but that’s now going to happen on the EP and YP should be getting 25-50mm which is still a big rain by our standards

Are you at Kadina?

We have a holiday house at a place just outside of Wallaroo (or as the locals call it Windy-roo). I wonder how it got that name?

Close, I’m 12km South of Paskeville at a place called Kainton. Been to Wally at lunch time to get a sausage roll from the bakery and yep it was windy. The whole of YP is windy not just Wallaroo.

Must be a bloody good sausage roll, better than Yorketown bakery?

Yes better than Yorketown. Kadina is our closest town that has all the shops so we really have no choice to drive the 35km in there and another 10km to Wally doesn’t matter when you have gone that far.

Jetty road bakery in Wallaroo would be one of the best in the state!

Thank you, it's a goal of mine to try every country town bakery to see who has the best peppered steak pie.

10mm so far, still forecasting around 100mm over the next few days. Once in a lifetime type of system. Some places on EP have already gone past 150mm and breaking all rainfall records.
