I'm not against it, but you just wonder if it throws up a funny result, we could end up in a situation where it impacts finals.

I note the B2 fixture with Woody South has been scheduled for a 12:30 start week 2, so seems that one will just be a normal one day game as you'd expect.

As an opening bowler I used to love them, they are massively unfair IMO.

Absolutely hated the one dayers under two day rule WTF are they even...….your either playing a two dayer or a one dayer not a hybrid.

You would have bowled your teams entire overs from one end I imagine.

Yeah, generally.

Seems weird. Judging by the mycricket scorecard Punjab Lions chased the runs with 8 balls to spare.

Elsewhere SHOC lose on penalty runs after being judged to be 3 overs short in their allotted time. Costly error!

I don't know full details of Reynella game, but just heard on the grapevine.

I'm sure @tigerpie has the good oil.

Nobody has mentioned it to me. One player said the lions took forever to bowl their overs.

I'm not sure what you mean by "funny result". I would think there is more chance of a funny result in a traditional 2 day format. Both Woodville South and Ingle Farm will be disadvantaged in that all other games in A1 are 160 overs over 2 days which allows those teams to gather extra bonus points and possibly push for an outright result. Playing a one day game restricts the game to a maximum of 80 overs, so only half the amount of overs to get bonus points. Playing a 50 over game doesn't completely solve the problem, but at least it allows both teams more opportunity to maximise their points.

The 50 overs is one thing, its the playing it under 2 day conditions thats the weirdest part imo.

It makes sense to play it as a 50 over game with 2 day rules, otherwise if it was played as a 1 day game they would have to manufacture a way to award bonus points for getting the total fast.
I’m assuming by 2 day rules they just mean teams can bat on after the total has been passed, rather than a game with a possible 2 innings per team.

How many 100s for Hanson now?
Would be close to being outright leader in the 100s department for atca?
Some effort considering he’s only played 7 years

That's his first 100 of the season, and 22nd overall in ATCA in his 8th season.

Kym Reid the known leader, with 25 100s during his time at Walkerville and Edwardstown.
Marcus Trimboli holds the record for 100s at a single club, hitting 23 for EDIT: Rostrevor.

You would expect Hanson to go past both in the not too distant future.

Thanks for the info.
How many years did the others play for and did they do it all in a grade?

Not sure, but you'd assume it was over a longer period and included lower grades as they got older.

Especially if they happen to be relegated. I think they won't. But Hanso would do all sorts of damage in A2

Amazing to look at the A1 ladder and see the bottom 6 are all within half a win of each other with just 7 weeks to go in the season.
Could see an interesting run home with sides looking to avoid relegation setting up some interesting outright possibilities and potentially impacting the finishing positions of the top 4 (well, more so 2nd-4th - you'd expect Para Hills to just keep on keeping on).

Kym Reid play for a very long time and was still making hundreds in C2 and C3 in his fifties. Marcus would have made quite a few hundreds in LO1, including a double century.

Must have been some serious stuff happening.

Hearing the Lions boys won't be invited to play the Quarter final.
Also hearing Reynella won't get the spot either, as they played 2 players from Southern Districts (only allowed 1).

I assume one of the 7 other sides that lost in the round of 16 will get a call inviting them to play a quarter final.

Looks like the Adelaide Rockets have been put into the quarter finals in place of Reynella/Lions in the Div 2 finals.
