90 Port Adelaide
70 East Torrens

* Bye to come

All Round 9 matches listed as draws at present. Will they be replayed? Makes a huge difference. Guess we'll find out soon. Several key match ups in that round:
Sturt v Port
Woodville v East Torrens
Kensington v Uni
West Torrens v TTG

Some decisive results yesterday too

Kensington over East Torrens pretty much ends the Reds' season
Sturt likewise over Woodville
The Jets fly up, up over Adelaide Uni! Boilover. Much improved season from ND
Expected wins for TTG, West Torrens and Glenelg.

Also interesting to see whether two day matches make a comeback. Some clubs will be hoping outright points are on the table

Rumours are 2 day games to resume this week. Unlikely Round 9 gets replayed. Finish week earlier or have spare week just in case. Announcement has to be early in week surely

Rest of season for remaining seven chances:

Sturt - Northerns (H), Kensington (A), Glenelg (A)
Kensington - Port (A), Sturt (H), Woodville (H)
Tea Tree Gully - Uni (A), Adelaide (H), East Torrens (H)
West Torrens - Prospect (A), BYE, Adelaide (H)
Adelaide Uni - TTG (H), Glenelg (A), Southerns (A)
Glenelg - ET (A), Uni (H), Sturt (H)
Northerns - Sturt (A), ET (H), Port (H)

Few big games could determine placings (Sturt vs Kensy, Sturt vs Glenelg, TTG vs Uni, GL vs Uni). Plus TTG and WT both play Adelaide and Uni play Southerns which opens the door for potential outrights and extra ten points.

Going to be interesting finish to the season :D

The chat I heard on the weekend was along those lines - Cricket this Saturday and 1st week of a 2 day round (as in the programme, just forward 1 week) potential that the last round will also become a 2 day game played Sat/Sun.

I guess we find out in a day or 2. Meeting on tonight.

TC - I heard Scott didn't want to play this weekend due to "bubble fatigue". Not sure about Carey. I also heard (unconfirmed) that SACA wouldn't allow Gibson and Corey Kelly to play this weekend as they "might get injured"??? If that's the case and both players put their hand up wanting to play then that's a joke.
I believe the next shield fixtures may be on the weekend the GF is though?

Liam Scott has a finger injury that's why he didnt play

My Cricket seems to now show the season just been brought forward one week, two day games still for rest of season. Think Round 9 stays as draws so Glenelg must have got no support from other clubs to replay it. Common sense decisions.

Interesting that it was ok to make 2 week games into 50 over games to avoid COVID impact a few weeks back - but now 2 week games are OK again are they?
Sounds like the pandemic must be over what a relief for everyone.

cant wait to hear the same people who praise last nights decisions squeal if they happen to lose 4-5 players mid game due to COVID and get rolled by a "poor" team.

Plenty of cricket left in this season thats for sure

I sort of agree with lots of this. There will be games severely affected from Week 1 to Week 2. Rules allow for lots of changes if COVID related.

It is a 2 day comp, so agree with reverting to this. Would have rather Sat/Sun games and finish season in five weeks. Playing one day games would have been good for WT though as we have a very good one day side :D

Could be some outrights now which will shape the four also

Redbacks draw released for rest of season does not clash with finals, so teams that make it should be at full strength which will make it interesting

Unconfirmed but I think he may have an issue with his back. Hopefully not too serious.

Yes, got a side strain in the Futures game last week, only bowled three overs. Was wanting to play as batter only in semi final last week but SACA said no, must still be holding him back.

Had rough start to 2022, had just finishing serving three game suspension for his horrific comments to Eddie Steele in their Uni match, now injured

From what I’ve heard around the traps Mr Steele may want to concentrate on trying to get his batting average into double figures instead of abusing opposition players. From what I’ve heard he was the cause of the problem. Heard from a source involved with Sturt that Steele was extremely abusive toward Kelly and Kelly got done for retaliation.

That is definitely true, he is not the most liked player going around for someone who has done bugger all. He is going out with Tom Kelly’s ex girlfriend, so bit of tension there. Won’t repeat what they both said but pretty ordinary, I would have given it back to Steele too with extra mayo on it which he did!

Been my argument for years, keep producing absolute roads at Grade cricket ovals and Karen Rolton Oval, doing nothing for our cricketers. Put some life in the pitches to test these batters, otherwise when they go to Gabba, etc they have no idea how to face swinging ball
