No wonder Vic Richardson told Ian Chappell not to captain like a Victorian.

What a bunch of gutless cowards.

Always have been a defensive and proctectionist society, yet for some reason we think we need to copy them in everything we do just because they are bigger.

Be smart if Head could zip through a couple of overs quickly so we get 8 overs with the new ball

redbacks needed to of scored quicker in there 2nd innings and had a crack at them before stumps on day 3., this would also of allowed more overs with a 2nd new ball. Complete waste of time batting on day 4

Have to agree.
90 overseas us plenty to bowl a side out on day 4.

Pope.....tailor made for him but comes up wicketless.
Not going to win games if your legspinner can't get a wicket!

Had them 2/7 ..had plenty of overs to bowl them out, just not good enough.

Pope has not improved and needs to go to a different state.

I watched the day four highlights this morning and Pope bowled alot of short stuff to Handscomb to which he took advantage of. Every time I see Pope bowl in Shield cricket whether that be in highlights or the live stream he continues to drop short alot.

I still stand by it but the more ‘old skool’ theory about 90 overs to a bow a side out isn’t realistic these days unless the pitch is doing a lot

Keepers generally can all hold a stick more than ever before and even now your number 8,920 value their wicket and have a level of technique

Teams seems to make the call on batting for a draw much earlier than they did years ago as well

It's a tough one, 300 is a par score in an ODD nowadays, scoring it off 90 overs at Adelaide Oval should be a walk in the park.

And BTW, we sort of won ;)

Pope has been a very consistent player for us since his 2nd match, if you're looking for a non wicket taking leggie that leaks runs, he's your man.

I'll always stand my same theory whatever the grade is, if you don't have a spinner that is up to the level required, don't play one.
