Been calling for non sporting acts to be punished just like they would off field for years...….its a move in the right direction.

No place in sport for blatant off the ball coward punches.

I don't understand some people's opinions about this matter,
"what happens on the oval stays on the oval",
as if an oval/pitch is holy ground or a friggin' sanctuary!
I can just see it now, a punchup on Hindley Street is about to go down,
"hey guys, let's go do this on Adelaide Oval, so we won't get arrested!"

100% I understand there is a risk of blurring non football incidents with the slightly raised elbow instead of a proper hip and shoulder but honestly a coward punch from behind is in an assault regardless of where it takes place.

With cricket season ending on the weekend did my first pre season footy training for the season. Have pulled up real good all things considering...…

All 9 of us covered 5 to 5.5km of running in the hour session. Despite the ground being pretty hard it didn't feel as tough a session as the footy was in the hands at all times. Very short rest times though with only a small group of us. Worked on skills with tired legs and minds....which was great.

Love the days of just doing road runs and time trials are somewhat gone.

Come on mate all our towns combined only have a population of 300...…...getting 3% of our population there.

I believe we are getting 20's to our 'city' training which is where nearly all the guns are based.

Surely not 'rookie' numbers and more like 'veteran' numbers given my ripe old age of 38

I was referring to the 5km covered - not the number who trained.

More than ill ever run in a b grade game from a forward pocket

Yeah not huge distances but was long enough especially given we had no breaks, you get to one cone and then pretty much turn around have to go off again. There was probably 15-20 minutes of the hour dedicated to inclose handballs etc once we were all absolutely knackered.
