Again in no order will take some scalps on their day but maybe just a little inconsistent to match it with the top 6

Not sure if I misunderstood this, but I don't know how much more consistent a club can get coming off an undefeated premiership season.

Div 6 was by far the worst division last year, the top 3 teams in Div 7 would have played finals easily and one of them would have knocked Elizabeth off!

Bit of a reality check coming for them this season when they play the top end teams in Div 5, even the middle ranged teams to be fair! Lol

Possibly 1 of Brahma or the units maybe might have snuck into the top 5 last season as it dropped off after the top 4 in d6 but none of them would have come close to knocking off Elizabeth, - or any of the other top 4 sides for that matter, sizeable gap.
To say division 6 was by far the worst division last year is an absolute piss take

Div 6 was by far one of the worst divisions last year gap wise - the top 3 compared to the rest of the comp was deplorable

Yeah I agree on that, I’d say top 4 though. Blackfriars beat St. Paul’s and came within a goal of both Elizabeth and trinity. Top end of div 7 would’ve been a step below those 4, but I’d say better than the bottom 5 as it was a significant drop.

Recent history has shown that teams who come up from Div 6 to Div 5 don't play finals straight away. Unless Elizabeth/St Pauls/BOS were streets ahead of other Div 6 GF teams in the last few years (WC, Fitz, TOS etc) then I don't see that changing. Heccies were a competitive unit last year but weren't quite consistent enough and still finished seventh in a nine-team comp. I watched three game of Div 5 footy and one game of Div 6 (between two top four teams) last year and those Div 6 clubs were still a fair way off Div 5 finals level.

Credit to BOS for having a crack, but I reckon if they stay up they'll be considering it a job well done for 2022. Should be the same for St Paul's and Elizabeth. At least one will go back down though IMO.

Eliabeth had a fantastic year last year but would have needed to pick up another 5-6 quality players to be competitive in Div 5
Pooraka were a div 4 side with what they fielded last year and would be 10-15 goal better side than the premiers from Div 6.
Interested to see what Kilburn and Gepps can bring this year coming back into div 5.

Eastern park VS gumeracha @ kersbrook oval on Sunday!
A grade at 2.30
Reserves 12.30

Both teams will be close to full strength so should be a good hit out!

How did these trials go?

Would think eastern park would have been much too strong for gums?

To be honest, I went up there thinking the same.. but gum are a very strong outfit, they should win it easily up there! Think they got up by a goal or 2 in the end.. We started very slow and took us a while to adapt to the massive ground, so first half they looked much better but the second half was the other way around and we played the game on our terms!

They have good players on every line, midfield is stacked, blokes with a lot of league footy experience or high division, then their younger players all 20-22 are fit, quick and talented to! Actually surprised me how well rounded they were

Admittedly I only saw 3 D5 games last year (inc the GF), but did see 12-15 HFL D2 games - probably not a lot in it but a different style of footy in the Hills.

Ironbank play Marion in a couple of weeks, will have a look at that, would think Ironbank would be way too strong.

Watched Elizabeth v Kilburn on the weekend which Kilburn won by 15 goals was rather impressed with Kilburns speed ball movement and attack on the ball under new coach Matty Whelan on the other hand Elizabeth looked slow and under done with no distinctive game plan i know its only a trial and dont know how many were missing from both sides but what i took away from the game is Kilburn will be very competitive while Elizabeth have a lot of work to do to avoid a premiership hangover
