Not really, several reasons Ladhams was moved on and whilst having Hayes on the list as back up was one it wasn't the only one.

In 2018 we had Hayes, Ladhams, Frampton, Dixon, Howard, Westhoff, Marshall and Ryder on the list, far too many talls I think.

Our list with Lycett 29, Hayes 22 and Visentini 19 as the pure rucks looks more balanced with Finlayson, Dixon as back up and Marshall, Skinner and Aliir if we really needed too.

I thought they moved Ladhams on for attitudinal reasons?

In part, our recruiting and list management haven't got much wrong in recent years when it comes to recruiting, developing or deciding it's time to move someone on. Ladhams had 5 years on the list for 32 games and 21 goals, time to change things up.

I'll go back as far as Shaun Burgoyne, he was a gun with us and a gun at the Hawks, since then name a player that has left Port and become a better player at their next club? I trust the list management team to have got this one right too.

Good call, I'm struggling to think of any. Wingard has had some good patches but not like his form with us around 2014.

Genuinely good call - went back and looked over all the names, everyone who was traded or left hasn't had a consistent impact at their new club, or lasted long.. Danyle Pearce at Freo maybe?

Ian Downsborough averaged 3.9 disposals per game with us and then went on to average 5.5 then 7 in his next two seasons @ the Crows.

I wouldn't think Pearce played his career best football at Fremantle, was a sound contributor for them but he didn't get any better after he left.

Impey is The player he threatened to be when he was at the power now he’s at the hawks

Dougal Howard has been great for st Kilda 3rd and 7th in B&F last two seasons.

Ryder still dominating but hasn’t improved as such

Brent guerra improved at hawks after leaving port imho

Will Snelling has improved at bombers

Jon Giles improved at GWS ,Essendon West Coast

Ben Jacobs become Roos number run with midfielder after leaving port

Ackland better at st Kilda French better at Carlton nick lower .......

All clubs Would have players that have improved elsewhere. To suggest it doesn’t happen after they leave Alberton is fanciful

Welcome back little guy, fancy a Port topic bringing you out of the shadows.

I'd only gone back 15 years, given the discussion is about the list management now I didn't think I'd need to go back too far but given your infatuation for Port Adelaide I can see why you've gone back further.

Guerra - left in 2003, but, fair call, became a better player then.
Ryder - AA with Port, has he been with St Kilda?
Howard and Impey could both have better careers at their new clubs.

LOL, Snelling, Giles, Ackland, Lower and French were all spuds and remained so.
