How bad is Port Rd! Drainage probably no better than 100 years ago.

Every time we get a sprinkle, Port Road floods, especially around the Barnacle Bills area

No issues at 666 Port Rd. Most of the issues were near Grange Rd.

Summer storms always look worse from a drainage perspective as all the little blockages the council normally finds out about during small events don't get discovered over the summer months without regular rainfall events.

The Council upgraded the drainage 5 years ago, it's certainly better now than it was 10 years ago, but yes, it won't be better than it was 100 years ago, as 100 years ago there was far less impervious area contributing run-off.

As for port road, the lower end will always struggle to drain as between findon road and west lakes there is an average grade of roughly 0.1%, where as minimum grades on stormwater networks are normally 0.5%.

Add in the fact that west lakes itself moves on the tides, if you get a rainfall event land during a high tide, you've got no hope of staying dry.

Just got home and out of nowhere I hear a loud clap of thunder and followed shortly afterwards by 5-10 minutes of hail and quite heavy rain.
Massive cloud just passed like that and sun out and all steamy now

Adelaide wasn't on the warning. We were never going to see any of that.

I’m glad I read this, I thought I was seeing things around 3:20 when I seen a lightning bolt out the Barossa way as I travelled down port Wakefield Ed.

Agreed. I still like the 30°+ days being around and the last two weeks have been perfect, especially when I've got someone painting the house, he's roaring along!
