Australia at their best dangled the carrot consistently to give teams hope of winning but backed themselves to roll them. No where near that level but we’ll done to Pat Cummins to back his team in after learning from previous tentitive mistakes. Backed his team in and it paid off.

Hearing Uzi speak just highlights the belief the group had, something we don’t get to see, I too was surprised.

Huge win, shouldn't underrate that win by the Aussies. To go to Pakistan and outlast them is super impressive. Now to a few different tests in Sri Lanka and India where Spin will play a much bigger role on tricker wickets. Also hopefully that shuts up the nonsense about Langer, coaches at that level rarely make a difference.

Last time Australia won on the subcontinent, was Lyon's first Test series - Sri Lanka in 2011.

A really good team performance:
Khawaja - 91, 104*
Warner - 7, 51
Smith - 59, 17
Green - 79
Carey - 67 (that partnership may well be the difference, their 6 & 7 scored 28 combined for the match)
Starc - 4/33. 1/53
Cummins - 5/56, 3/23
Lyon - 1/95, 5/83

The others - as usual, Head playing some exquisite shots, but only getting 20 odd in the first dig; Labuschagne below his standards in this series, but added runs in the 2nd dig to help set the declaration...that leaves Swepson, who took a good catch to dismiss Shaheen.
