The dominant teams of the year certainly didn't dominate the last game of the year. Not sure who was the hottest favourites of the three......Perhaps in order was GG, PH and PD.

What a great win by Ingle Farm yesterday .... so proud of the boys. That's 2 A1 premierships in 3 years, but this year is so much more satisfying that how we won in 2020. Chris McLean won the toss which gave the Farmers the chance to bat first. This would prove to be critical. They got off to a good start with Matt Cuconits looking rock solid, but Tyson Roling struck twice just before tea. A critical moment straight after tea, when Jhaih Baxter gets a leading edge to his first ball and it ballons over cover. He survives and proceeds to blaze 59 off 50 balls before he holes out to big full toss from Carey. Lachy Sandercock starts hitting bombs, but gets run out after some brilliant fielding by Cam Williams, his 28 is very valuable. Ingle Farm achieve their aim and bat to 80th over with 225 on the board. Roling and Carey were both brilliant with the ball, as they have been all season.
At the start of day 2 both teams would have been quietly confident. Para Hills have a very powerful batting line up, but Ingle Farm would back their bowlers to defend any score over 200. The Farmers get off to a quick start with Luke Pickford picking up both openers. Parton and Williams steady the ship and get to the tea break with both looking rock solid. ..... but there's still a long way to go. Pickford and Sandercock bowl really well before and after tea and the Para Hills bats get bogged down. Pickford gets Williams and it game on. When Curtis Wordsworth is dismissed, you can feel the tension because Para Hills have their big hitters lined up. Robbie McCard gets run out attempting a single that wasn't there and Tom Parton is brilliantly caught by Maurie Sandery off his own bowling. That leaves Kyle Parks and Dylan Hiscock at the crease. For brief moment Para Hills are back in the game. Chris McLean has done his hamstring and is off the ground and a couple of big bombs by Hiscock, but Sandercock gets one through him. Tyson Roling takes on Sandery's arm from the boundary and loses, Parks holes out and Sandercock wraps it up .... joyous scenes for the Farmers! Tom Parton's innings was full of class, but the Ingle Farm bowlers, in particular the three quicks led by Luke Pickford were brilliant. Well done to Para Hills on their season, they have played great cricket all year.
Congratulations to Chris McLean and the boys ..... you beauty!

B1 final was an anti climax, Mawson lakes have smoked teams all year and hit a lot of runs but with TOS put a competitive 230 on the board after being 7/130 at one point. First ball of Sunday the opener who hit 80 off 60 the week before attempted a slog sweep and was plum LBW this lead to a collapse I am sure most teams wouldn't ever expect to see they were 7/27 and the game was all over in 24 overs.

Its the difference between having actual umpires and umpiring yourself.
Strong Trinity side, plenty A Grade experience running through it.

Id like to say well done to Ingle Farm, won all of the big moments across the 2 days and played hard, good cricket. A real credit goes to Sandery and Sandercock especially who bowled with guts and effort needed in these games. Was great to have huge crowds both days, also a thank you to Popey and the farmer supporters who kept it tidy and cleaned up each day where they were based.

To our guys, Tyson Roling again outstanding with the ball and gave it his absolute all, Parton with the bat as well put a strong innings forward.

The difference in the whole game and my M.O.M would be Jhai Baxter, his innings changed not just the momentum at the time, but the whole direction of the game.

We look forward to next season all ready,

Cheers

Is Baxter the one who was with Port Adelaide last year and start of this season? Bit of a 20/20 sort of batter.

My lads port districts had an opportunity to nail the gf on the first day but failed to do so.
3-139 at tea. Irfan 41 poor shot to get out on. After tea to be bowled out for 228 with 2-3 more poor shot selections very frustrating to watch. We left 10 overs and we really should have posted 280. But fair play to hopevalley they set the fields well and bowled well.
Day two 228 I still thought we were ahead of the game but to hopevalley credit they dug in and really pushed our quicks to the point we were out on our feet. Having no irfan spinner hurt person reasons. Hopevalley had some luck early with a cut shot Knick caught behind not given when he was around 20 he went on to make a very good 69. But the umpires were very good and the blame goes onto us for not batting hopevalley out of the game when it was set up to do so.
Our 4 bowlers were superb we just come across a very very determined hopevalley that valued there wicket and played some great cricket.
The game was played in great spirit the crowd both days were passionate and it was a cracking game of cricket.

Golden Grove will be kicking themselves that they couldn't gain promotion to A2, especially after the team they managed to compile for the A3 season. Kudos to Brighton for a terrific run chase and getting back into A2 after consecutive relegations.
You think Golden Grove will go in heavy favourites again if they mange to retain their list.

Yea it was really hard to take for a lot of the lads not to gain promotion only losing the one game being the GF. Have to give credit to Brighton with their run chase Keilow batted with a bit of luck but was able to make 62 against a quality attack. To go along with the young lad McKenzie facing 160 rocks for 40no was exceptional from a 21-year-old to get his side home by the barest of margins.

Fair play to the Brighton team and their supporters that traveled down both days. The game twisted and turned but the keys for Brighton were getting Anderson & Moran in the first over after drinks on day 1 and the 83 run stand between Kielow & McKenzie. It is hard to earn promotion but the boys will be back after it trying to go one better next year!

Am I hearing on the grapevine that we might be changing systems from My Cricket to Play HQ?

Yes.

Not an ATCA decision but rather Cricket Australia.

The MyCricket model was free for clubs, MyCricket kept the add revenue and CA wanted a piece of it.
MyCricket said no, so CA took it off them and went to PlayHQ.

PlayHQ will now be the sole supplier and will charge every player to register each season.
That revenue will be shared between PlayHQ and CA.

CA say they support grassroots cricket but clearly they don't.

Just on that the early versions of mycricket were a debacle as well.

But again Cricket Australia being money hungry grubs again much like the WSC days....

$18 per player to register is what I've been informed, roughly $10 of that goes on insurance and the rest towards some IT investment/maintenance fund. This season kids paid $5 for insurance, not sure if that will be bumped up.

Will be a bit of a pain in the butt given how many 1-3 game fill ins a typical local/country club would use through a season. Apparently you can play 1 game as a guest without paying the fee but it needs to be paid before you play a second game. Hopefully wont create too much of a mess.

Mycricket was mostly fine for the match day stuff, but some of the registration processes were a little tedious and the site wasn't always laid out too logically. I have zero confidence playHQ will be any better, but time will tell.
