I hope it wasn't anyone from here that rang Trippple M yesterday arvo about the umpiring debacle and Eddie's proposal.

One pillick suggested that the AFL revert back to two umpires to improve the situation.

Go in first and hardest to win the ball is a skill set, not lifting arms and throwing the head back in a pack.

Cory?

And any surprise that after calling it out in the media he didn't get a touch today?

Yep. What is the last original thought they have had to players contracts etc that they have had?

Draft? Mid? Pre? During? Formerly on a list? Rookies? Next Gen academys? Salary caps? Top ups?

I think Bedge is on the money. You can add coaches challenges, flags on the field and a doubling of the goal umpires. That will go nicely with the 6 boundary umpires and five field umpires all controlled by the match referee.

The AFL continue to put TV requests ahead of the loyal fans and then wonder why attendances aren't better.

Port play Richmond in the June long weekend in Melbourne - if that had been slotted in for Friday night then many Port fans would have flown over to Melbourne on the Friday, gone to Port that night and then take in Ess/Carlton on the Saturday night and boosted the Vic economy and airline profits for that long weekend. But no - with only 6 games scheduled for the long weekend, TV wants a game on a Thursday night. So Port get shifted there, Ess/Carlton goes to Friday night and there is no game in the city of Melbourne on the Saturday of a long weekend...
