I think I'll have to block @daysofourlives from messenger if last night's shameless carryon continues. Bobbing up with a chirpy message to let me know that his Hawks had beaten the once mighty Cats AND that his team DAISYSDUDS were the sole members of the unbeaten club. I could have gleefully pointed out that the only was down but last year the last unbeaten side stayed that way for many weeks and I for one am not that patient. Nah, seriously DAISY well done mate on winning the April premiership, but as you know, you have to win it 'when it matters' ;)

As for the rest of us mere mortals, the real star of the show was Richo Richo but seeing as he follows Richmond, I got no message from him. Now that I know it takes 2351 to beat @FISH I can work out why I didn't manage to secure the victory in round one. How to beat Richo might be the next problem to face however. Two teams opened their account for the season with Hondo accounting for the Chooks and the REBCats finally getting that elusive win over Mediocre at Best despite the worst efforts of Aaron Pingy Hall.

@wycbloods showed that winning runs in the family and it was a strong performance from the Sharks who put the @Q. back in the rack for his first loss. The Summer of George was over as well as the Clots rose to the top with another rather unimpressive display. The Clots aren't scoring shit this year so clearly the 2021 method of scoring big but losing matches has been abandoned by coach @David Brent.

Inner Sanctum has flown under the radar a bit but that they are starting to emerge after ending Captain Who's winning streak. Watts and Motts went deep into the finals last year and look set to repeat the dose as they are currently riding high in second place on the ladder. A few teams are in the gun early with the reigning premier among them. Losing to their 2021 bitches the REBCats surely wasn't in the script when @Feenix checked out the early fixture and last year's minor premiers Ecky's Fevolas are also struggling to get going as well. Another team with a good Premier League record is Delicious and they came a cropper at the hands of a rampant DAISY and The Far Callers are in a rather unusual 1-2 situation.

With so many good sides down the wrong end of the ladder, is it any wonder that the league is ranked a mighty 67. 67 boys! How well can we go? If my duddy REBCats can lift our game who knows! Moving ahead the match of the round is wycbloods vs. DAISYSDUDS. While the bloods are only in 8th spot on the ladder, more often than not they score well so I'm anticipating a cracking match and hopefully, a DAISY loss ha ha.

Good luck to all coaches as we climb the corporate ladder! Yes, even you @Hondo.

regards,

Just looking at the live and projected scores and wondering whether Delicious and Inner Sanctum have the same onfield team this week?

DAISY has marched on for another week with Premier League rivals seemingly being reluctant to score against the Premier League newcomer. This week it was wycbloods who failed to fire a shot which is a bit of a worry for the prez who has now carded a couple of fairly low scores mixed in with some really good ones. Richo Richo is the leading scoring team in the Hogg this year and they bounced back with a massive win over the luckless reigning premier who got a huge score carded against him yet again. Even REBCats scored well against Feenix so it's looking like a year from hell so far for Mediocre.

Captain Who and the Sharks didn't have a big year last season but have got off to absolute flyers with a 3-1 start. Sharks were my tip for relegation but darned if i'm not in the frame for that myself after Hondo held on to a thirty point win after Crisp ran out of gas in the last quarter on ANZAC Day. The Far Callers are back in town with a solid 2344 which was enough to cover a solid response from Summer of George. FISH is FISH and they are going swimmingly while Roosters and more importantly Eckys got on the board.

Alarm bells are starting to ring for some. Mediocre can't get that winning feeling while Delicious and REBCats are also really struggling Q got himself a win and a draw but now he is treading water. Inner Sanctum are also a bit hit and miss this year and after a tied game looked like it was on the cards this weekend, in the end it was the Roosters who were crowing. After last season's barren run, Roosters would be delighted with 2-2.

Match of the round this week is Sharks vs. The Far Callers. The Callers hit back hard last week but the this season the Sharks have bene circling. I reckon the Callers get the job done and reel in one of the bigger fish in the sea this season.

Richo Richo Man has me covered by a lazy 400 points according to this week's score projection. In a week when nearly every ruck in the comp has gone down he has....yep....Gawn and Witts, probably one and two at the minute. Relegation here I come!

And the Captain goes BANG! Groover has unleashed the biggest score of the Hogg so far this season when he smashed out a sensational 443 point victory over Chops Clots who must be wishing he was back in Divvy I after Groover's 2736. The Captain wasn't the only side handing out a hiding. My struggling REBCats copped a massive 336 point hiding at the hands of Richo Richo Man who has emerged as the number one team in the Hogg (as well as the number one team in SA as well). The most improved team in the Premier League this year is Sharks who racked up 2648 but had to fight off stiffer opposition in the form of The Far Callers but it's a big scalp for Spiro who after many years has finally emerged as the real deal in Premier League.

It looks like someone is copying someone's else's homework. Inner Sanctum and Delicious have carded the same score for three weeks in a row. Surely this has never happened before, at least not that I can remember. it's hard to suggest anything other than these teams are cookie cutter sides. Be interesting to see what happens when they play each other. Someone would have to blink in order to get the win. Someone else who did not blink was DAISY who came crashing back to earth. DAISY held fire on Gawn and like the rest of us paid the price. It will be interesting to see how the former league leader responds after the entire league got the jump on him last week.

A couple of teams who did well last year managed to secure vital victories. Eckys Fevola's won their second match in a row while the reigning premier Mediocre secured their first win of the season. This was bad news for Delicious who slipped to last spot and the REBCats whose percentage was slashed as they dropped into the delegation zone. Ouch.

This week the match of the round is TEAM_FISH vs. Watts & Motts as two finalists from last year are battling out in a genuine eight point match. I'm liking FISH to to defend his hard earned top four position with Watts to slip back into the pack.

18 REBCats 1 5 0 13221 13685 96.61 4

While there seems an inevitability about Richo climbing to the top of the ladder, the closeness of this league dictates that it was a narrow hard fought win over the 17th ranked side before he could get there. As Delicious carded the same score as Inner Sanctum for fourth straight week, it was a result that did not favour valleys as it appears to have for Inner Sanctum who squared the ledger with a comfortable win over the battling REBCats. TEAM_FISH was most impressive with a solid 2329 which was more than enough to dispose of Watts who couldn't keep up the pace. The division I premiers Far Callers are back in town with a smashing win over the previously inform Captain who tumbled down the ladder as the result of the 240 point destroyation.

Hondo and Roosters have been steadily building a block of solid form with Hondo relieving his glory days of his early Premier career when his side was a regular finalist and contender. The Roosters have put the relegation scrap of 2021 into the rear view mirror and are now sitting pretty in the top four in a fine return to form. Former ladder leaders DAISY and the Sharks had a reversal of fortune with DAISY dropping his second straight match in a surprise loss to Summer of George. The Sharks had a bit of a stumble this week as Ecky has rediscovered his mojo and is bounding back into contention.

It's a pretty tough league this one with matches just about untippable. You feel that any side in this league could win against any opponent on any given day. Chops Clots are dragging the chain with the scoring and my REBCats are stone motherless and can't buy a win so those two sides would have to be the early favourites for relegation, although this Catter ain't giving up and I reckon the Clots won't be either. The match of the round this week is Sharks vs. DAISYSDUDS. Both sides have been brilliant at times this year but both lost last week and the loser could be a side that begins a bit of a slide. I reckon it will be DAISY that arrests that slide in what should be a close encounter with the Sharks slipping out of the eight next week.

If anyone ever asks what is it like in Hogg Premier the answer is this - it's like playing a final every week in the season. There is absolutely no let up. Each week when you look at the opposition you think 'cripes how am I winning this one'. Well, that's what the view looks like from 15th anyway. This week we had a number of very close games that you are always relieved to be in the right side of. The reigning premier Mediocre has found it tough to back up from last year's dominant season and they looked Gawn for all money but somehow they managed to scramble over the line by a mere two points over Watts and Motts who must be wondering how they lost that one.

REBCats and Inner Sanctum were two other sides who badly need the wins only just got over the line with Carlton's Corey Durdin the unlikely matchwinner for last placed REBCats in our desperate battle with Delicious. Another struggling side who had a big win were wycbloods who won a big win over his brother Richo Richo who stayed on top due to percentage despite the loss. Hondo continued on with his winning ways as did other top teams Captain Who, The Far Callers and Sharks.

In a week when a number of challenging teams stepped up a few top eight sides, apart from Richo, had the stumble. DAISY has now dropped three straight after his bright start to the season while FISH had an absolute shocker this weekend as they were thumped by Summer of George. The Roosters also got rolled and the top eight is going to be a real bunfight for those sides within striking distance.

There are a number of massive matches this week but the stand out fixture of the round is The Far Callers vs. Hondo. The Far Callers have an unapparelled record of success in the Hogg but come against the mighty Hondo at the peak of his powers. Winning form is good form but both of these teams have that and I get the feeling that Far Callers might just get a step closer to the top of the mountain at Hondo's expense.

@valleys07 is a former Hogg Premier League champion but last weekend's 6 point win over @wycbloods might just be one of the most important wins of Delicious' career. It's absolutely brutal in the relegation bunfight with some seriously good sides fighting tooth and nail just to stay in the divison. @Q. is another former champion who is doing it tough in the top flight for the first time in their career and right now they are marooned on one and a half wins and nervous times ahead. Recently promoted Chops is a former number 1 ranked scoring team in the Hogg but this year they are but mere mortals and @David Brent would be a relieved a coach after Chops finally got scoring and recorded a vital win over Inner Sanctum.

Not all the tooth and nail battles were at the arse end of the ladder. DAISY was flying high at the start of the season but have fallen on hard times in recent weeks and they fell to a third straight loss to an inform Captain Who by 37 points. @Groover can be well pleased with his season after date after having his own battles in the last couple of seasons at this level. @FISH and Roosters were back on the winners list with Roosters turning around a mini slump and getting back amongst it this week. FISH has been very solid this season and once again they are putting their hand up for their maiden Premier League premiership.

Summer of George have barged into the top eight after a slow start at the expense of DAISY while Far Callers and Richo Richo kept on keeping on with Richo continuing on with a fine season. Meanwhile, @Hondo and the Sharks are top eight sides who slipped up on the weekend. It's something you don't want to turn into a habit as stringing losses together puts you behind the eight ball very quickly in this company. Match of the round next week Captain Who vs. TEAM_FISH. This is a massive clash and will be one of the contests of the Hogg this week with two high scoring teams facing off to put one foot in the double chance. It's hard to go past Groover this year but @FISH has been too consistent for too long and I reckon FISHY might just be the winner of this one....kiss of death in 5, 4, 3, 2....

Hasn't Neale been off his tucker though! Started well but can't crack 110 lately. I went Oliver as well. Thought that it was obvious seeing as he didn't fire up against the Eagles so the odds of him not firing twice against shit sides looked low. Especially under a roof you've got to love Clarry there.

18 Q Before You 1 7 1 19736 20355 96.96 6

Big scoring was the order of the round as Captain Who took over the top spot on the ladder as Summer of George pumped out a 2549 to sink Richo Richo Man who didn't have such a bad round themselves. Hondo, The Far Callers and Roosters all had good wins to keep the heat on the leaders with the Roosters inflicting DAISY's 5th straight loss which has undone all the good work of an unbeaten first month.

The Premier League clanger of the season so far goes to Spiro's Sharks. Attempting to loop in Junkley's 143, he was left to carry Carroll as his skipper as Weitering went off hurt for the 147th time in 138 matches. Mediocre was on the way to carding a Mediocre score and possibly another loss when Spiro pulled a boner and handed the match to the reigning premier. Several other battlers managed to get important wins during this round. Chops Clots managed to hang on for a vital win over Q who has now been left behind on last place on the table while the REBCats managed an important relegation scrap match against wycbloods. The other battling side to record an invaluable win was Delicious whose win over Watts has but the heat right on bd u15 09. Watts, wycbloods and now Ecky's Fevolas have been dragged into the relegation bunfight so the bye period is going to be an interesting battle for those teams at the wrong end of the ladder.

The match of the round this week is TEAM_FISH vs. Roosters. Both sides look pretty well set up for this bye which means it's a true 5th vs. 6th battle. FISH needs the win here to keep the edge over the Roosters and I reckon they might just fall over the line in a close one.

Hondo threw down his marker for the Hogg Premier title with a big win over a battling DAISY as Captain Who took a tumble at the hands of Mediocre at Best. Richo Richo continued on with his winning ways but for once he didn't lead the way in scoring as Hondo leapfrogged him to top of the table. @FISH got the chocolates against Roosters in the top eight clash while @Q. went very close to securing a vital win, falling just short of the highly rated Far Callers.

Inner Sanctum,, Mediocre at Best, and Chops Clots have emerged as the main contenders for a late crack at the top eight with Spiro's Sharks starting to look a bit wobbly. Summer of George had a reversal going down fairly easily to struggling Delicious. @Ecky's Fevolas and Watts and Motts drew the short straw this week in the relegation battle with losses while REBCats aren't safe yet after being outclassed by the Clots.

The match of the round this week is between two sides who have topped the table at times this year. Richo Richo Man vs. Captain Who should be a classic contest as both teams seek to stake their top four claims during this second bye week. Looking at the preview scores it appears that @Groover is not too well set up for this bye round so this gives the high scoring @CoverKing the edge in this vital match.

It was advantage @FISH and Richo Richo in Round 11 in the Premier League as both sides navigated a tough bye round against tricky opposition. Richo's win over the Captain enabled them to go back to the top of the ladder as @Hondo stumbled to defeat against FISH who are looking more impressive by the week. Speaking of funky bye results the big one was the loss of The Far Callers who were unable to get by a resurgent Chops Clots combination.

Mediocre and Innner Sanctum are back in a big way with Mediocre grabbing a vital win over the Roosters as the reigning premier plucked the chooks and took their top eight place. Sanctum smashed out an impressive 2138 which consigned early pacesetter DAISYSDUDS to an unprecedented 7th straight loss. Delicious were another side on the ball this week as they smashed out a 2100 which was too much for the Sharks.

In the relegation battle it was big wins for @Ecky who just fell over the line against a luckless Q who are now a massive ten points adrift of 17th ranked REBCats who have not had a good bye period as they were smashed by Watts. Despite the efforts of some of the teams in this paragraph, the Premier League is now ranked at a season high 48. No wonder I can't win a game!

There are a couple of pretty important games next week but for me the match of the round appears to be Hondo SCC vs. Mediocre at Best. Mediocre have been building steadily and Hondo has a few slip ups in recent rounds and according to the predictor both will score reasonably well with not much in it. I'm liking @Feenix at the moment and I reckon his good recent run will continue at the expense of Hondo.

18 Q Before You 1 10 1 25057 25825 97.03 6

As the dust settles on the bye period in the Premier League only one thing is clear: that there is no clear standout in the league. The only team that really stands apart from the pack is the unlucky Q Before You who are ten points adrift of second last REBCats. Things didn't get much better for Q last week when DAISY saluted by a mere 39 points to provide the DUDS with their first win in over two months. i optimistically predict that there are still 17 contenders in this league but us duds on 4-8 would have to make almost every post a winner to get back into the finals action.

FISH has been solid all season and he would take a one game buffer at the top of the Premier League after the byes. FISHy has never won the Premier League but has been a regular finalist and this could be his year. Other teams such as Hondo and Summer of George are others who have yet to taste victory while teams like Captain Who and Richo Richo are former Premier League champions and we all know The Far Callers win Hogg Premierships for fun.

Mediocre at Best has resurrected their premiership defence in the last five or six weeks and this week they racked up another important victory. The Roosters are back in the eight after a vital win over Richo Richo who has the goods but hasn't quite managed to secure the advantage that looks theirs for the taking. In the relegation battle it is tight tight tight Tuco. Q's record looks bad but they are by no means a bad side and Q Before You have made a habit this season of racking unlucky losses. Q is running out of time to avoid the drop. The teams on 4-8 are the sides also in the brown stuff with the REBCats having a horrible bye period after being on the cusp of the eight before it. wycbloods has a massive difference between their best and worst while Watts' vital win over REBCats the other round could be the result that sends my boys down. All of the bottom four badly need a win this week.

Two teams that certainly don't need to worry about relegation this year are in the match of the round - Hondo SCC vs. Richo Richo Man. Hondo has really slipped in recent weeks while Richo is also struggling to recapture that early season dominance. In a toss of the coin job I reckon it's Richo that hits back which will put Hondo right amongst the ruck after seemingly being well clear of it a few weeks ago.

Is this the year of the FISH? On top for another week after fishy smashed a struggling Q who almost looks certain to be relegated this year. While that's tough on Q spare a thought for those teams that scored 2500 and couldn't bring home the chocolates. The Roosters were in this unhappy state and the win by Delicious leaves the door open for them a bit but a few extra points from the Chooks would have made life very difficult for Delicious indeed. In the match of the day it was a thrilling win by Richo Richo but I don't reckon Hondo would have been all that thrilled about getting rolled by a slender 17 points after racking up 2512.

A couple of top eight sides consolidated their place in the upper part of the ladder with Inner Sanctum putting the brakes on a mid-season resurgence by Mediocre at Best who aren't quite in the form they were in this time last year. While it was business as usual for sides such as Captain Who, The Far Callers and The Summer of George. Things were less encouraging for the Sharks and Chops Clots but the relegation woes set fairly on the feet of Q man who needs a miracle and wycbloods and REBCats who can't seem to get over the finsih line in recent weeks.

The match of the day once again features Richo Richo in the Richo Richo Man vs. Inner Sanctum clash. The finals aspirants will all be hoping that Richo Richo does the business but Sanctum will be up for the fight as are most teams in this league bar my mob. Smart money (not that you can bet on Premier Leauge) is on Richo Richo and so say all of us.

Re: Hogg Premier League 2022

Hogg Premier The Run Home

With four weeks to go the contenders are lining up in what has been (unfortunately) been the best ever. So who is going to triumph in this bumper Premier season? Well, I'm buggered if I know but I'll have a crack anyway.

1. TEAM_FISH 40 (Chops Clots, The Far Callers, Eckys Fevolas, DAISYSDUDS)

It's been a top season by FISH who are a game clear of the pack and having gotten there by playing all of the contenders bar one. I reckon FISH get three wins but Far Callers may get the best of them. It's too close to call for the minor premiership at this stage but in two weeks I reckon we'll all be the wiser. With this run Fishy should hold on to the double chance.

2. Captain Who? 36 (Watts & Motts, Summer of George, Sharks, REBCats)

The Captain has had his best season in years and like FISH they've got a fairly soft run into the finals. I reckon you can pencil the captain in for three wins but Georgie boy looks like a potential banana skin. With three wins from here the Captain should get the double chance.

3. Richo Richo Man 36 (Inner Sanctum, Q Before You, Chops Clots, The Far Callers)

Richo has been a bit inconsistent of late but if he beats Inner Sanctum this week they should hold on against two of the lower scoring teams in the Premier League this year before facing the ominous Far Callers combination in the last round. After being a top four side all season, they could be a shock omission from that part of the draw at the end of the minor round.

4. The Far Callers 36 (DAISYSDUDS, TEAM_FISH, Mediocre at Best, Richo Richo Man)

The Far Callers win premierships for fun but this is a tough run home. I reckon they will clean up DAISY no problems this week and that might drop one of the last three but four wins would not surprise with this might team. I reckon they win the lot and earn a well deserved minor premiership but jeez there's three pretty tough matches there.

5. Summer of George 34 (Sharks, Captain Who?, Roosters, Hondo SCC)

That draw against 18th ranked could prove very costly but not all is yet lost for George who is finally having the sort of season one would expect of such a fine coach in the Premier League. The Captain and Hondo are the tough ones and if he gets those, which I think he might, he can steal Richo's top four spot.

6. Hondo SCC 28 (Delicious, wycbloods, Watts & Motts, Summer of George)

I reckon Hondo is in strife. You can pencil him for the bloods game but I reckon Watts is 50-50 only and that he's not getting near the circling Delicious or the inform George. It's a far cry from the early part of the season where Hondo was up there with the big boys. Hondo has the staggers and looks like missing out.

7. Mediocre at Best 28 (Q Before You, Chops Clots, The Far Callers, Eckys Fevolas)

The reigning premier makes the finals from here I feel. A good recovery after a very tardy start. Not sure Mediocre can take Far Callers but they deserve to start favourites against the rest. A fine recovery indeed.

8. Inner Sanctum 28 (Richo Richo Man, Delicious, wycbloods, Watts & Motts)

Like Hondo, I reckon Sanctum are a bit vulnerable. The rise of Delicious as a credible finals force has done them no favours and to make the eight they might have to overhaul a massive three percentage point difference against Hondo. Troubled times ahead if they don't win at least one of their next two.

9. Roosters 28 (wycbloods, Watts & Motts, Summer of George, Sharks)

Just like the NRL Roosters, and Michael Corelone, they are currently out but they'll drag themselves back in. The Roosters have two winnable games over the next fortnight but a tough assignment against George. Then they get another winnable match to finish and come August the Chooks will be crowing.

10. Delicious 24 (Hondo SCC, Inner Sanctum, wycbloods, Chops Clots)

Delicious can't afford a slip up from here on the run home but I reckon they are in red hot form and can win all four of these matches. The first two are the toughest but if they get past them then it should be a finals spot on the cards for valleys.

11. Sharks 24 (Summer of George, REBCats, Captain Who?, Roosters)

I reckon the Sharks are cooked. Nice to get to play them when they are weak like this too as I will badly need the four points. I reckon they get a burger ring from here and sink down to the ladder to an inglorious end to what was once a promising season.

12. DAISYSDUDS 24 (The Far Callers, Eckys Fevolas, REBCats, TEAM_FISH)

DAISYS mid-season slump has cost them a spot in the eight this year. I reckon he halves his matches from here with wins over the stragglers but they aren't beating FISH or The Far Callers. No finals for DAISY.

13. Chops Clots 24 (TEAM_FISH, Mediocre at Best, Richo Richo Man, Delicious)

Chops are the lowest ranked side that has a chance at finals action but unlike DAISY I can't see a couple of wins in his last month as that is a pretty tough draw. I reckon he gets a globe like Spiro but with six wins he's probably safe from the drop.

REB Sez....

1. The Far Callers 52
2. TEAM_FISH 52
3. Summer of George 50
4. Captain Who 48
5. Richo Richo Man 48
6. Mediocre at Best 40
7. Delicious 40
8. Roosters 40

Hogg Division I Membership Applciation

And the nominees are......Watts & Motts, Ecky's Fevolas, wycbloods, REBCats and Q Before You. With four weeks to go for the rest of the minor round only three of these teams will be participating in the Premier League next week. If the last post was for the run home, this one is pretty much the run away. We are were you don't wanna be...

14. Watts & Motts 20 (Captain Who?, Roosters, Hondo, Inner Sanctum)

I have Watts winning zero of these matches as that is a pretty tough draw with four matches against teams above them. However, after the game last night Watts is already out to a good lead and if he finishes the job this will be the last time you see this team in this type of thread. They'd need to drop the lot and for REBCats and bloods to win two out of four so not impossible, but probably unlikely.

15. Ecky's Fevolas 20 (REBCats, DAISYSDUDS, TEAM_FISH, Mediocre at Best)

This week is absolutely massive for the Fev. If he wins this one he gets thrown a lifeline but a loss to 17th ranked REBCats could mean he faces the drop. It seems to get harder and harder for Fevvy with two top eight sides to finish. A very nervy end to the season for the Fevalator!

16. wycbloods 16 (Roosters, Hondo SCC, Inner Sanctum, Q Before You)

The bloods have really dropped away in recent weeks and I can't see how he gets a win in the next three rounds. In the last round he plays Q but even though Q might break though, such is the demise of the bloods over the second half of the season. Second last REBBY here is cheering on a few of these sides over the next month due to my own spuddy performance.

17. REBCats 16 (Ecky's Fevolas, Sharks, DAISYSDUDS, Captain Who?)

It is with more hope than certainty here that Im backing myself in with Ecky and Sharks. After one game already I can see that the match against Ecky is going to be massively close. My record against Sharks isn't all that flash either but if I'm not beating those two then I'm not beating DAISY or the Captain Either and it's bye bye the Cats as the last foundation team disappears from the Premier League.

18. Q Before You 6 (Mediocre at Best, Richo Richo Man, Delicious, wycbloods)

Every year there appears to ba hard luck story as a gun team totally falls apart. This year that team is Q who after a decade in the top flight, look certain to go down afte what has been a truly horrible season. Q hasn't been squibbing it, his scoring is ok, it's just the rest of the league is a lot better than ok and like a few of us, we haven't kept up. Spoon day looming with only the match against bloods the possible consolation win.
