Interesting round of footy in Div 1 today

The supposed top five strong clubs (Rostrevor, St Peters, Prince Alfred, Goody Saints and Payneham) all lost!

Makes for an interesting season ahead.

Assume it must of been a prick of a thing to edit and code but I miss the highlight videos Dartfish would put up. Great when you weren't able to get to the game (and I'll pretty rarely if ever have the patience to sit through an entire replay)

Yeah, agree! was a brilliant way to review games. Assume someone had to sit and watch all games, then drop 'an anchor' on a point of interest (card, goal, tackle etc). Would be a huge amount of work for all games played.

There's an app that was used, i'm still trying to get my head around it but basically you record the moments on MyDartfish notes and then upload the CSV file to the video I think.

Still a lot of work for someone to sit and watch the games and add them, unless they do it whilst recording the game.

Crazy results yet again. Obviously super early in the season, but has the two Grand Finalists ever been relegated the following year?

Not sure about both finalists (that will take some time to trowel through) but Gullies were the last D1 finalist to win a D1 flag and get relegated the following year.

The closest I've come with so far, is Flinders Park d Semaphore Central in 1977 - Flinders Park defected to SAFA for the 78 season and Semaphore Centrals finished in the bottom 2 in 78 but ended up amalgamating with Exeter to form Pt Districts which also went to SAFA in 1979

What a start to the DIV 1 season. Flag favorites struggling early, last year's grand finalist in an unfamiliar position, and the the promoted teams holding their own. Long way to go, but would be great to see this unpredictability continue all season.

It does seem that way looking at their team in the first few rounds of the year, a lot more young kids from the school in comparison to the last few seasons... possible passing of the baton in seems.

I think more retirements than losses to other clubs

I watched Rostrevor play the other week against Glenunga. They looked a shell of what they were 2 years ago. Definitely a fair few missing from that team. Glenunga looked a class above them that day.
They don’t generally lose players to other clubs. Maybe the odd one here and there that goes country. Most player losses seem to be retirements or moving interstate

Looks like Covid has hit Glenunga with a call to arms for players to help out on Saturday.

If you are keen for a kick, give glenunga a call to help them out this weekend.

Willunga to edge the larks by 27 getting some players back
Goolwa to beat yank in the game of the round by 3 goals.
