Going to be big news this one, you would think both should have undergone the 20 min protocol - which would have put them both out of the game, who made the call?

They weren't the reason, Ports inside 50 entries were hot garbage

Umpires didn't help their situation though.
Dave Warner will be missed!

Hang on if you win the clearances doesn't that mean it worked?

Isn't that the point of stoppages?

Who gives a shit if you don't get any hitouts if win the the clearances.

Playing the extra mid meant they won more of the ball, the only reason they lost was that they couldn't hit a target all night.

This ^ one sh1ts me.

The ball is trapped by three players in between the bloke's feet and he gets pinged.

The rule was brought in to speed the game up, then they bring in rules like nominating the ruck and waiting for ruckman to get to the contest at each throw in, making another mockery of the reason for the rule.

If this rule and Supercoach was around in Chris McDermott's day he would have averaged 12 FA and -24 SC points per game.

Absolutely, would think there would be a please explain from AFL HQ,

Obviously it was a blood rule for both and for the players sake hopefully thats all, but could end up one of those things that could come back and bite the club big time down the track if something was missed by medicos.
Trust the process.

I thought Ken addressed the Jonas Butters clash well in his presser .... nothing to see here.

I reckon the AFL media will run with it a bit over the next few days and discuss bit to death and then some how Caro will link it to North needing to go to Tassie lol

Although it's bit of a reach by Ken to say you should be careful when commenting without any knowledge, I mean come on Ken that's how the AFL news cycle works.

Definitely a please explain coming. There's no way you can have a head clash and not look at concussion protocols in this say and age given what we now know about head injuries.

Absolutely there will be a please explain from AFL headquarters

But it will be the equivalent of long hop/fully on leg stump to Boonster at WYC back in the day. it will be going over Marion road...

the Port football department wont have any trouble dealing with that "please explain".
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
